Contracting for Dish Network help
Myself and a friend are in the process of obtaining our contractors license. We are interested in starting and running an installation contract for Dish Network. We are however finding it difficult to locate information on how to become an installation contractor for DN.
We are not interested in becoming a "retailer" for DN we simply want to be the ones to do the installation as we have multiple people with trucks and tools ready to go.
We understand that there are retailers in our area that are looking for contractors or subs to do installation work and will be looking into this also.
We have been to the Dish site and cannot find contact info on becoming a contactor.
Please if you have any input or info to share I am sure this would help not only myself but also others that may have similar questions.
Thanks in advance.

Got $30,000 laying around . You need it for equipment. Also, be aware that when you do a job, they pay for the install buy not for the equipment. For example when you use a 311 receiver (worth $100), you dont get $100 cash, you get $100 credit to buy another receiver with. You wont get your $30k back untill you pull out of your contract. Becoming a contract Installer
Stop by any local Dish Network Retailer other than radio shack or sears. They sometimes do their own installs and may need help. I work for a local Computer store that sell Dish and Directv and I install both on contract for them. They also sell Verizon wireless, sprint nextel and SBC Local phone service as well as DSL.
Thanks for the replies so far. It helps to get any info when there was little to none before.
The retailer.echostar.com link that was posted, is that the avenue to take if we want to contract directly for Dish?
Does Dish normally take on contractors and give them work or would we have to sell any contracts to do the installs?
Quite honestly if you are interested in getting into the satellite business as a technician, I would advise you to get the training you need and start right out of the gate learning to do VSAT & commercial work. 99% of the people that are doing residential installations, be it Dish or DirecTV will tell you there is no way they would get into the business now. Both Dish and DTV are taking more and more work "in house" so unless you are wanting to be an hourly employee of one of these companies, your choices are getting more limited by the day.
Satellite Expo, actually I have quite a lot of experience as does my partner. We are looking to get into the contracting side of satellite as installing is boring and not as profitable as it used to be.
We have been searching for tips and info on getting started with Dish Network. Any input as far as obtaining a contract with DN as well as any helpful details anyone can offer is great.
btw, the tips offered so far have been a good start.
We are also wondering if when getting a contract with Dish Network would we be an HSP with them (with DN providing the install work to us) or would we still have to go out and sell the service to then get paid for the install?
