Comcast to get 'show cause' hearing on April 20 (Fairfield Glade)
Cumberland County Mayor Brock Hill has received numerous complaints from Comcast customers in recent months regarding poor cable service. A "show cause" hearing has been scheduled for Comcast Cable Television, the company which provides cable service to the Fairfield Glade area, has been scheduled by the mayor for Thursday afternoon, April 20 at 3 p.m. in the large courtroom of the Cumberland County Courthouse. All Comcast customers are invited to attend this public hearing.
The hearing is to allow Comcast to "show cause" why its franchise should not be revoked, modified or amended as a result of these complaints, and will provide an opportunity for the company to answer customer questions and present solutions to recurring problems. The company's franchise agreement provides for such a hearing.
Mayor Hill stated, "We are concerned that the type and quality of service provided by Comcast is not on a par with industry standards, and its customers deserve this hearing."
