    Looking to switch from Cable

I'm looking to possibly switch to Dish, mainly because they offer the most HD programming of any provider I can get. The only thing I'm going to miss by switching is On Demand channels such as HBO on Demand. I'm looking for the cheapest, easiest, and best way to switch. I need 1 HD DVR, and 4 SD receivers (If 5 receivers in total isn't possible, I can deal with 4 I suppose. Doesn't the HD DVR allow for 2 room individual viewing anyway?). I want a setup capable of receiving all the HD Channels including the VOOM channels, and the local channels. What are my options, and what will this cost me?

One thing I probably should mention, I have high speed cable internet and AT&T Callvantage. I have no POTS line. Will all the Dish receivers work with VOIP? I know my standalone TiVo doesn't.

    Thanks guys.

Wait to switch, dish has to many issues with its hd sat to provide you with reliable service at this point, just go to the hd thread and the tech support thread and you will see threads labeled lost transponders, 129, 622, 211, and 411 wich will show you alot of the problems.

Damn, yeah, one thing I can say about Time Warner cable here is the fact that I never have service interruptions. If that's the case, I'll wait a little longer. Thanks for the information.

    Switch to dush

Do yourself a big favor and switch.I have been with dish for 6 months and I luv it.I could give a shit less about HD but there regular lineup is great.180 channels and finally something on.THE cable companies need to learn better customer service and better picture quality. The picture on dish on so much superior to cable.GOOD DAY.

The mans got an hd set so I dont blame him for wanting more hd content but for him to switch over just to get sd and no hd is like going to the store to get skippy peanut butter and instead leaving with goverment issued peanut butter.
