    DC HD Locals...Which channels?

What are the HD channels for DC's locals? I get 004-00 that is in HD now and another NBC in the 6300 range that is HD. Last night I was watching a show in the 00#-) range in HD...but the equivilant channel in the 6300 wasn't in HD.

So what range is the HDs supposed to reside?

    TIA

The 6300 range channels are the HD ones, if you have the local HD to map down, they will also be in the 004-00. If you hit the guide to go to the HD list, you will see all the HD channels you can have. Not sure why the 6300 channel was not HD. What the program not HD (black bars along the sides?) or was it just the program not in HD (not everything on networks are presented in HD).

The channel at 00#-00 was obviously HD. Its counterpart in the 6300s had black bars on the side and was cleary SD. I'll keep my eye out and update if I see this happen again.

If the channel is showing with black bars on the side it is an HD channel showing sd content. Wait till HD program is on and check it again.

I'm not sure if thats true. If I tune into a SD channel that doesn't have the HD option or HD counterpart, there will be black bars on the side displaying the picture in 4:3. The only way I can fill the screen is if I set my TV (Sony Bravia LCD) to zoom or wide-zoom. An example of this is MTV (Ch. 160) or anytime I watch a game with the NHL Center Ice Package (Ch. 540+)

If there is an HD program, an HD channel will not have the black bars on the sides, which is why I said to check back when an HD program is being presented on the channel in the 6300 range. You can also check Dish's channel types at this location:
