leaving 211 on 24/7
Any problems associated with leaving 211 or any Dish receiver on 24/7 or is it better to keep the default timeout-put to sleep for inactivity?
I usually keep my comcast and Dish receivers on 24/7 but never was aware of an auto standby mode before when I had my 6000 on 24/7.

TURN YOUR RECEIVERS OFF!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
That is how they get there updates. When you leave them on you will constantly download the guide when you hit the guide button, not to mention you will miss out any software updates needed. IF you have any DVR's it allows the Hard drive to spin down and thus extend the life of your DVR.Any posts on this forum are my personal thoughts and do not represent the views or reflections of my current employer!

I dont think the 211 actually turns off. It goes to screen saver mode when you hit the "off" button on the remote
