Sony A/V Receiver Fix
ADVERTS 1
Well, after 7 years my Sony 5.1 surround finally crapped out. Everytime I would power it on the Protect mode would come on.
I found a fix that I hope is permanent, at least for now. I took the cover off and you wouldn't believe how much dust and animal hair had accumulated inside!!
After vacuuming all of that up I powered it back on. It's been working all afternoon so far!!Click here if you have benefited from satelliteguys.us
Always here to help! Please feel free to contact me.

Dust is an electronics killer.

Yeah. Someday I'm going to have everything in a filtered rack. Yep, someday. For now, I simply schedule a semi-annual equipment vacuum day in my outlook. (second Sunday of Feb and August)
You think your receiver was bad? Try your computer where the fan draws all this junk in. Haven't looked in my 622 yet.

The dust was probably shorting something out, causing the protection circuit to trip.
FYI:
-It's "couldn't care less", not "could care less".
-It's "would've", "should've", and "could've", not "would of", "should of", and "could of".
-It's "voila!", not "walla!" (That's right. You've been speaking French all this time.)
-The first word in each sentence should be capitalized.
-A period goes at the end of each sentence.
-Commas are also a good idea, on occasion.
