Klipsch Speakers
ADVERTS 1
I have a great deal of exp. with Klipsch speakers since 1980. I owned a mobile "DJ" co. for 15 yrs. I walked into a high end sound equip. store & they were giving a demo with a pr. of Klipsch commercial speakers called "Heresys". They cost @ that time $1400.00/pr. and handled 125 watts continuous and peaks to the 10th power. They were loud, very distinct sounding, and very efficient. I still have that pair in my fam. room and they have never had any failures after about 27 yrs. of use.
Two years ago I bought a Yamaha 7.1 amp. Best Buy sells Klipsch speakers so I purchased all my speakers except for the R & L fronts. I have a pair of Klipsch Cornwall speakers that I use for the fronts. They are about 30 years old- Each has 1 15" woofer, 1 midrange horn, and 1 tweeter horn. I have shaken the house on numerous occasions with the Cornwalls & my DJ amps.
I would highly recommend any Klipsch speakers to anyone who wants speakers that sound great, require very little power to run, and give maximum decibels of sound for the $$.
On a side note: The Heresey's put out over 126 DB's of clean sound @ full bore & the Cornwalls put out around 130 DB's.
Some of you might wonder what the big deal is with DB's. I, as a DJ learned many years ago that: 1) You need "headroom" with any amp so you don't run out of watts & distort your amp & speakers and 2) Efficient speakers "sip" watts & give lots of DB's along with great sound.
How many of you have ever owned a real ass kicking pair of speakers that lasted over 25 years giving NO trouble? Buy Klipsch if you want some of the sweetest sounding speakers that ever were invented.
I have a Yamaha HTR-5890 AV receiver & all Klipsch speakers. This is a very nice sounding system & I have always found Yamaha amps to be trouble free & reliable workhorses.

I still have my original Yamaha M-70 amp, C-70 control amp, and T-70 tuner from 1981. They still sound like the day I first bought them...and their looks were 20 years ahead of the competition. Since then, I have purchased a RX-V2095, RX-V3300 and RX-V3800 receivers.
As far as Klipsch...I won't buy any own any other speakers. I purchased a pair of KLF-30s, KLF-10s, and the matching KLF-C7 center channel channel speaker back in '99 and love them. The Heresey and Cornwall lines are legendary. My next pair of speakers will be the Klipshorn.

I had a pair of industrial Klipsch LaScala's with inverted 15" bottom end woofers and the same mid & high end horns as a Cornwall. They were $2000.00 for the pair and huge. Their power rating was 130 DB @ 200 watts in and peaks to the 10th power. They weighed 170 lbs. each and were very hard to get in and out of places when I DJ'd, so I swapped them back to the store for 2 pairs of full dress commercial Heresey's. It was awesome to hear all 4 of them in a large banquet hall. The dispersion was wide, distinct, and powerful. I ran all 4 of them off of a Yamaha 2002-M pro amp. I once owned a Yamaha 5005-M comm. amp & it was rated @ 500 watts per channel. I should have kept it as I've never seen a 2 ch. amp as powerful as that one again. It cost me $2500.00 in 1983. I sold it to a friend for what I pd. for it & he still has it.
Many people don't know how efficient Klipsch speakers are and the amt. of DB's they put out @ 1 watt in is amazing. My Heresey's are rated for 126 DB @ 125 watts continuous & there have been many times when I setup in a hall where people would ask me where my other speakers were. I told them if they could put an ear up to 1 of them for 5 minutes under full volume I would give them $20. I never had to pay anyone $20. I also love that sweet sound that only a Klipsch speaker makes.
I've had some Bose speakers. I liked them but they didn't hold a candle to the Klipsch. Neither do Bose's top of the line sound systems. My Yamaha & Klipsch blew away Bose's top systems. Like you said, different tastes for different folks.
I'll take a picture of a Heresy & a Cornwall & upload them tomorrow.

Of course I own a Studebaker, two actually! Doesn't everyone?

As far as the speakers, I have four Definitive Technology BP2300's and a CLR2500 for the center. Lot's of people wouldn't have them for free, but I like them. That's the thing with speakers, what you like is entirely subjective. That's why I always recommend getting them from a local dealer that will allow you to take the displays home for the weekend to listen to them in your own home.Chip

Actually, I have never owned a Studebaker even though I know what they are. An old friend of mine's father had one in the 60's. I also liked fast cars and stayed away from cars that didn't attract girls! I was 16 in 1966. As to speakers, you're quite right. Everyone's ears have their own way of enjoying sound. I don't know your speakers, but I'm sure you're happy. regards, Walker

If you like fast cars, and never owned a Studebaker, then you are missing something! Studebaker made a stock 1964 model with a supercharger that did the 1/4 mile in under 13 seconds! Try to find a Chevy, Ford, or Chrysler of that era that can do that! Good luck! BTW, did you ever notice how much room is in the back seat of a four door Studie?
