    HDMI Qestion...PLEASE Help

    ADVERTS 1
    I have a HDMI question.
I have a Yamaha HTR-6090 and I recently got a Samsung BD-UP5000 and want to know if the Yamaha will change a HDMI input to Composite Output?

I have a Legacy Pionee PRO-510 HDTV but it does not have HDMI inputs. I want the best PQ with what I have (as replacing the Pioneer is too cost prohibitive)

    Thanks for your help.
    Tom

No. The Yamaha receivers will just switch and output whatever you put in.

    HDMI in HDMI out
    Component in Component out
S Video in S Video out
    Coposite in composite out.

I wish it would output all modes to any input, but I suspect the unit would be WAYYYY more expensive if it did that.

You probably meant component: composite is the lowest quality transfer video can have...
If this is the case - no, you receiver can not switch HDMI input to component output.

    Diogen.

    Diogen.
Actually RF/coax looks worse than composite/RCA.

The OP should look into getting a HDFury before they're gone if he/she has a display without HDMI.
