A/V Receiver upconverting SD SAT signal?

    ADVERTS 1
    Hello

I have the dish network 722 and looking to buy the yamaha RX-V1800. The HD channels look great on my 1080p tv but the SD ones are just OK. If I connect the 722 to the yamaha which then connects to the tv all thru HDMI will the SD satellite signal be upconverted by the yamaha?
Or any other capable A/V Receiver?

    Thank You

Well the signal is already "upconverted" by the 722 unless you are changing the resolutions everytime you switch between SD and HD. No amount of upconversion is going to get them to look great, they are just too heavily compressed.
