Not sure that I want to be with out for another 3-4 weeks. Already missed 2 weeks of the H3 beta. RB6 has new maps so that will give it some life for another month.

My 360 just died. Static checkerboard overlay on the graphics, occasional bootup with signature "ring-of-death." Sad part is, I haven't even been playing it that much.

Well my 360 just died. Guess I shouldn't have created this thread. . I got the 3 red rings of "DEATH". Mine was a launch unit so it lasted more than most.

My 360 got the red ring of death 11 months after purchase. I di not take the warranty, so it's out of my pocket.

I received the empty box and will be sending in the 360 next week.

If you have only had it 11 months it is still under warranty. They extended all of them to 1 year.

I received my replacement unit the first time because it just kept freezing during gameplay. Nothing else was wrong with it. It was under warranty so I had it sent out for free, repaired and sent back in a week. This was offered free of charge. The call center rep told me he would note on the account that my warranty would be extended until October '07. A couple of days ago, my 360 started to display checkerboard patterns and vertical lines, and would also give me the ring of death. Called, waited over an hour to talk to someone only to tell me this:
    1. My warranty expired on 3/3/07.
    2. I can pay to have it repaired at a discounted rate of $105.

I asked to speak to a manager. The "elite" care team is now scheduled to call me back. I guess we'll see what happens. If I don't get my console repaired for free, I want a partial refund so I can buy a Wii or a PS3. Microsoft is disappointing me with their product quality.

Should they want to charge you , I managed to get the repair price down to half the 129 they try to charge. It's amazing that they have enough refurbs for all the broken ones

I have the extended warranty on mine so unlike most I won't have to pay anything.
