This is a awesome game for multiplayer. Not so much for single, the perks and attachments that you can earn make it worth all night play every night. Great game, 5/5

I haven't played the single player yet. But the multiplayer is outstanding. The gun feeling is so different to COD4 and COD-WoW(I know both were made by different developers). I can play this game for several hours easily because there are so many different options for the classes. The game actually encourage you to use all the guns because of amount of challenges for everyone of them.

I'm planning to play and finish the single player next week because I have 3 days off.

5 of 5 on my ratings too.

    Spoiler:

I think next week will be better when Left 4 Dead 2 and Assassin's Creed 2 arrive. To be fair, I haven't finished the SP mode yet, but all I know is that the more I've been playing it, the less I've been enjoying it...
The game is awesome...on some levels I have the same issue as you can't tell who is who so end up mowing down my own folks sometimes.

The game sucks when you want to have two people play on the same box though as you can't play with two people on Live. Guess they figured you would cheat with that too.

I just finished the SP portion of the game, and while it was fun to play, it was definitely lacking and is by far the LEAST interesting of the plots in the CoD games. First off, the plot is f-ing retarded. I mean I know as videogamers we're used to leaving our brains at the door with videogame plots, but for this one you need to leave your brain in another state. The plot is unique in that it is barely there at all and at the same time virtually impenetrable. At least MW1 had a plot that, while a little far-fetched, was still remotely plausible. The plot in MW2 though is almost offensively bad.

    Spoiler:

Still, when the game rolls it rolls well. There's some really fun moments to be had, and the musical score really helps heighten the experience if you have a good sound system to support it. The combat is fun, but it's nothing you haven't seen before for the most part.

I'll likely be returning this game tomorrow though (I got it from Gamefly.) As I've mentioned previously I thought MW1's MP was overrated and rubbed me about as well as a porcupine rubs a balloon, and since MW2 doesn't deviate much from that formula, I don't see myself playing much of it, especially with L4D2, Assassin's Creed 2, and the God of War Collection coming out this week.

MW2 is much different with the aspect of perks and things that you can change. This game is much much different and better for it.

I have to officially declare that I am DONE with MW2. This game should be congratulated for not only disappointing and frustrating me, but also doing the same thing to my wife because she hated how often she saw me playing this game just to get through the SP campaign. So not only did I grind through a lackluster SP experience, but I got to be yelled at by others for doing so!

As far as MP goes the thing that REALLY hurts the MP experience is the newbie difficulty cliff. I say cliff because there's no sort of "curve" involved. Teaching my dad Unix would have been easier and more fulfilling than dealing with these current players.

I'd say about 95% of the online players are people who played the hell out of MW1, and since MW2 MP is MW1 MP with added polish, most people picked it up very easily and didn't need to learn anything new. For me, someone who hasn't played CoD MP since last Xmas when I had to play CoD: WaW at my cousin's place, I constantly found myself bumbling around and getting killed almost instantly, if I wasn't trying to get indoors to get away from drone launched missile attacks. Either the game doesn't try to match you up with similar skilled players, or just everyone has so many hours under their belt already that I just lag behind because I'm not big into this game. My level was 3 yet I found myself being thrown into matches with numerous players with levels higher than 20, which led to constant quick killing, and then being SHOWN how exactly I was killed did little to alleviate my frustration. It seemed more like a "Here's exactly how much you suck" camera. And I'm not just some newb casual gamer here. I've been playing online multiplayer FPS games for longer than a good number of these players have been alive. Yes, I am past my prime, but I refuse to accept the idea that I just suck at FPSes.

It also didn't help that I was FORCED to only play DM style matches because apparently my rank said I wasn't "worthy" enough to play the other match types. To be fair, the other match styles didn't look to be much fun either, as I had other games that did what the other matchtypes were but did them BETTER (Team Fortress 2, Counter Strike, Gears of War, etc)

The final straw came when I decided to try some regular deathmatch, and I was thrown into a match where I was by FAR the lowest rank there, and I found myself getting killed so easily and quickly you'd think I was the size of a blimp. After about the 4th kill in 30 seconds I yelled out "F*CK THIS" and decided to leave the game, to which the game said that I would lose rank and said something insulting as well. All of this led me to believe that IW did not want me muddying up their online community with my apparently unreasonable standards of what makes a good game. So it was then that I made an agreement with them to throw the game back into the Gamefly return envelope, seal it up, mail it out, and agree to never play CoD games online again. And if MW3 doesn't do something to improve the SP experience, this may be the last CoD game I ever willingly play or rent.

I give the whole experience (SP and MP) a C-. I hope that Assassin's Creed 2 breaks this trend of being underwhelmed by highly anticipated sequels (Uncharted 2, MW2, and possibly L4D2.)

That was certainly difficult to read. Had someone been yelling at me while I was trying to enjoy a game I can't say that I would have been enjoying much of anything never mind a game. If I had been cursing at the game my wife would not have enjoyed the experience one bit from her perspective I'm sure.

Having just finished Modern Warfare 2 single player I can say that I enjoyed it very much. My FPS gaming up until now has been exclusively on the PC. Getting the PS3 controllers under control took some getting used to compared to the old mouse/kb action. I am still getting the control patterns mapped between my thumbs and my brain and and it is becoming more 'natural' now.

Next up, multi-player and continuing my assimilation into the console way of playing FPS. Being on a comfy couch sure beats sitting in front of the PC!

It wasn't a constant back and forth arguing thing like a scene out of "War of the Roses," and I don't typically yell at games anymore because she doesn't like that and we have neighbors with a young baby and very thin walls. She doesn't like me playing video games in the first place (unless it's Rock Band or Guitar Hero for some odd reason) and to see me this weekend playing for stretches of 2+ hours didn't please her much. She's been complaining that I've been playing too much lately, not really understanding that the reason I'm getting in as much gaming as I am NOW is because once our baby comes, my gaming time is going to be cut down significantly. To me it was like seeing an over-hyped movie and being disappointed with it and then coming home and being yelled at for seeing the movie in the first place.
