PS3 Premium Online Services
ADVERTS
The rumor is PS3 will soon start charging for online services (similar to Xbox) but will keep the online gaming part of it free. The premium part will come from: PSN full game demo access, extended warranty, Netflix w/out the disk, Facebook. Here is a proposed chart that is floating around out there:

I do use the online gaming only also as well. But the thing I would miss is in-game voice chat in COD:MW2. I will have to live without it.

I don't really game online, so it bothers me that access to demos would possibly be limited to subscribers only. I see demos as marketing that sells games. Without a demo I would not buy a game I'm unsure of in less it's a must-have, universally acclaimed title like Uncharted 2, Assassins Creed II or LittleBigPlanet. Limiting non-disc access for Netflix to a $70 sub means my Roku will stay out of moth balls until I get a BD-player with Netflix access.

Some good things there (cloud storage of saves), but some really absurd ones that they've clearly kept so they could charge for it later (Netflix access w/out disc, cross game voice chat, automatic downloads and updates)

yeah if that happens I am good....The one big reason I have a ps3 is because I can let it sit there and not pay for it monthly....BUT I was excited for netflix support coming as that is the one thing I have been missing, if they are going to make me pay for it, then I am out...I dont think its fair to charge for customer service prioity..and access to betas ( I have to pay to help make your game better, yeah right)...I would rather give my money to xbox if I am going to be forced to give it to someone as they have a deeper online system and most of my friends are there anyways!

Not interested in any of those features. I like the online gaming part and that is it. I have about 30 different ways to check my facebook account and to get online music. No thanks.
