I just looked Mitch Miller up on Wikipedia and the man is still alive!! He's 98 years old!

Yikes! I remember watching Mitch Miller and Lawrence Welk with my grandparents. And yes...Sloppy Joe's and Tang were quite popular back then along with Chop Suey, although I don't recall seeing Chop Suey on any Chinese menu in many years. Anyway, now I know why so many people downed a beer or sipped on a martini when they came home from work every evening.
