Concrete Pad for 240cm Dish
ADVERTS 1
Robbie,
Back in December my wife ordered a 240cm dish from you for me as a Christmas present. Well, I'm finally getting it installed this weekend and pouring a concrete pad for it to rest on. I'm making the pad 42" x 42", but don't know just how deep I should make it. I'm thinking it should be at least 1 foot deep to support the dish in high winds. Or do you recommend I go deeper?
Thank You,
Dave

Too late the concrete pad is already complete. I made it 4' x 4' and 6" deep.
What size drill bit is used to install the concrete anchors?

I found a document showing that the concrete anchors are 1/4" x 1.5" long, so I assume the drill size used will be 1/4".

6" should be deep enough specially if the sides are 4' each. If anything, I would have maybe done 40"X40"X10" or so, but what you have should be plenty to hold the dish in place.

BTW, some photos would be great!

What size drill bit should be used to insert the concrete anchors that came with that dish? Perhaps 3/8"? I had a lot of trouble last night getting the anchors to work correctly.
