LEXIUM DBS7000 HDMI OUTPUT Help needed
ADVERTS 1
I have a 36" WSI dish locked on 125W. It has a 0.2db LNBF from Glorystar. The TV I'm using is a brand new 28" Hannspree HD flat screen that shows 1080 HD very clear on OTA channels.
The Lexium DBS7000 pulled 12 channels in a blind scan but when I use the HDMI input to the TV from the sat receiver it says "no signal". The only way I can see anything on the TV, including the sat menu is through the AV input on the TV from the sat receiver which of course is the composit input...
However, I cannot get the freq 12140, V, 30000, PBS HD Channels that are supposed to be in MPEG-2 standard HD.
I'm getting 87% signal, and 75% Quality on all 12 channels.
TV or satellite receiver? I'm stumped.

Apparently not. Is that a MENU option with the Lexium? Didn't see that option?

Here are the MENU settings in the lexium DBS7000 to get to the TV system:
MENU, SYSTEM SETTUP, TV SYSTEM, then there are four items listed under TV SYSTEM
DISPLAY MODE HDMI 480I
ASPECT MODE 4.3 LB
VIDEO OUTPUT CVBS + S-VIDEO
DOLBY DIGITAL ON
I tried changing the display mode to a higher number and lost video completly. Had to do a system reset (holding standby button on front of receiver down for 10+ seconds)...
Anyone got one of these receivers that is showing a High Definition picture through a satellite?Last edited by T4Runner; 11-04-2010 at 06:42 PM.

First, I apologize for not answering sooner. I have not logged in to the forum for the past few days because I've been trying to test some exciting & revolutionary new products that we will soon bring to the FTA market and will be available from any
WS International
reseller.
I believe you are locked on AMC21, but can you please confirm the satellite you are locked on?
Based on the information on Lyngsat, if you are on AMC21, the transponder 12140 shows me the PBS stations are HD. Even though the receiver has HDMI output, it is not a HD receiver.
Are you picking up any stations broadcasting on 12180?

Yes, I am locked onto AMC-21 @ 125W.
Yes, I am getting all of the DVB-S channels listed on greq 12180 quite clear. However, although I understand it passes AC3 audio through to the TV I have not quite figured that one out yet either. Allthough the receiver has a coaxial connection, my TV does not.
Thanks for the simple answer that the receiver is not actually a High Definition receiver. The advertising should probably change to reflect that. What's the point of having a HDMI output?
Looking forward to new products...

Then you'll be able to hear it through the speakers of your stereo system.although I understand it passes AC3 audio through to the TV I have not quite figured that one out yet either
I don't recall advertising anywhere that the unit is a high definition unit. I'm sorry if you were under the impression that it was. Thanks for the simple answer that the receiver is not actually a High Definition receiver. The advertising should probably change to reflect that. What's the point of having a HDMI output?
Since our main market is the ethnic market, it puts FTA as a secondary or third form of entertainment in addition to what they may already have. Most everyone already subscribe to cable TV, satellite TV, OTA and in addition to their cable or satellite STB, they also have a DVD player, blue ray player, etc.... connected to their TV, making their FTA STB a secondary, third, or fourth source of entertainment and device that is connected to their TV. Sometime they may have issues where they already have all of their TV ports in use by other devices. For this reason, we want to give the customers a choice of RCA output, RF output, & HDMI output in order to make sure they have plenty of choices of hooking up their receiver to their TV. Not to mention the picture through HDMI is noticeably better.
