It has been sometime -- maybe next to never -- that I've experienced the kind of frustration I have had with trying to redeem the DISH rebate. I became a DISH customer on July 7. As soon as my first new billing statement generated just a few days later, I printed a hard copy; completed the redemption form as instructed and mailed. To make a long story short, I gave sufficent time for the rebate to begin processing -- I queried the rebate website and telephoned, too and it indicated "no activity". I mailed 2 more redemption forms, with the latter sent certified mail so that I would know a human hand had received it. And, indeed I received the post card by return mail with a signature indicating the redemption form arrived at its destination. Again, I gave sufficient time for my form to begin jumping through its hoops. I checked for rebate activity, and still none. I finally emailed ceo@echostar.com on August 30. Within a day, I had a reply with an apology and a note that the credits would be automaticallly added and that I should see them on my next billing statement. My next statement generated September 22 and there were no credits showing. I have replied to the email I received from ceo@echostar.com so I will update you on how this transpires. Any other suggestions or has anyone else dealt with this rebate hassle? I love my DISH programming, DVR, etc but this rebate hassle and their customer service is far from lovable.

Eric

My 1st 622 upgrade rebate which I began last November took until March to show up. Be patient a bit longer. I did my 2nd 622 upgrade in August and the rebate is still being processed. I received my equipment return $10 credit on the September 22nd bill.

Today the rebate query page showed that they had mailed me a check for $1.00. What?? It also said the account number was wrong but it showed up right.

I went for the on line chat option a few minutes ago and the guy wasn't very assuring saying something like "if you filled it out right you have no problem and will get the credits". Yeah, right.

If I had an ulcer it would be acting up now.

Anybody had the rebate status page come up with "$1.00 check mailed"?

I got a 50 dollar credit this month but it was supossed to be 100, im deciding if i should call in and hassle it

rebates are great

:DIf the paperwork is filled out properly and a copy of the front & the back of your bill is included with the rebate it should be automatic. If you forgot to copy the back of the bill or filled something out improperly then you will need to take care and make sure everything is correct including the address being the exact same as it is on your dish paperwork and phone number is the same as well. I have processed hundreds of rebates through our dealership and have only experienced a few problems and the ones that we had problems with did not include a copy of both sides of their bill or had not completely filled out the information properly and when they corrected the problems or omissions the rebates started 2 months later. It is not a nightmare if it is done properly it may take a few months for the rebate to reflect on your bill but it is very simple and easy if done correctly.:D

I had the same problem but with mine I only submitted the front of the bill and not the back also. But they don't give a phone number so you can call to get an address to submit what was missing. I was trying to get the 10 for 10 deal. So I email the ceo address and within hours got a response that stated they would apply the credits starting the next billing cycle. Well there was a credit but it wasn't the 10 for 10. It was the 20 for six (six months free deal) :D. So I guess I came out alittle ahead on that deal :).

I just checked mine that I sent out about 4 weeks ago. It is at the "Required Service Period." It says a check of $1.00 is being processed??

I should be getting the $100 credit and $10 for 10.

Mine now says Processing and Error(s): Invalid Account Number

I'm sure I entered it correctly. What do I do or do I expect?
Also the bill copy sent has the 16-digit account.
Is this just a run around? I want my $100.

P.S. why doesn't Dish handle this as they have all the info? Just hoping you won't get it?

Every rebate hassle with Dish I figure it's just me but seeing the two posts above I see a pattern.

My rebate first showed "invalid account number" then days later that a $1.00 check was mailed. Now it has backed up and shows me back on step three with the note that a another $1.00 check is being processed.

You would think that by putting up a web page for folk to see what was going on that they would make accuracy "job one".

That's exactly what I told them when I complained about my rebate.

I saw the same thing on my rebate query, except that it hasn't backed up...yet. I'm sorry, but there just seems to be lots of incompetence with DISH's customer service including their rebate processing. As a follow-up to my generating this thread, I received another reply from ceo@echostar.com -- They've added $20 credits this month and $20 next month (due to the rebate hassles I've encountered) and told me that the rebate credits should begin appearing in 8-10 weeks.

We'll see...

Hum, I wonder why they first told me that my account was "not active"? so they were denying the rebate request, wonder where my $120/month was going.:eureka. When I called, they said it was a computer glitch and they would reprocess the rebate. I then received a postcard saying that my rebate was outside the promotional period. So I called them again and was told it was a computer error. I did not get any action until I used the CEO email address. So if you think all you have to do is follow direction to get your rebate, you are NOT correct. Companies love rebates because they know a certain % will never send them in, and those that do will not fight if they get a rejection, and those that do fight, a certain % of those will give up. Just look at an Office Depot rebate thread, if you think Dish is bad. Sure some companies are prompt and very fair with their rebates, Dish is NOT one of them.

Sent my rebate in on 9-15-07. Just checked the link and basically got the same as you guys. 1- received. 2- processing, and error with account #which came right off the bill that was sent ,front and back. So I will give it some time and keep checking. If they screw up there is always the ceo@.
