I don't know anyone at Dish. However, I have contacts on the programming side and one of them had expected Dish to light up two of their National HD channels today (Thursday).

Word is that this is now on hold. That there was some serious issue that could keep Dish from lighting up any new nationals for a few weeks until they get some Eastern Arc stuff squared away.

Anyone hear anything about something like that? could it have anything to do with all those deletes on 61.5 today?

No idea, but they've had CSRs promising customers that more than 20 specific channels would be up by the end of this month.

There is only 22 channels left to add from the list that Charlie announced a while back. We already have 3 of the 25 announced.

ESPNNEWS HD and BRAVO HD were supposed to light up yesterday and become officially available today.

However there was an issue with the duplicate channel testing that they were doing which caused them to be delayed.

I am "hoping" we will see them tomorrow, but this is Dish Network and anything is possible.

I do expect ALL OF THEM to be on next week just in time for Team Summit.

Hey Scott love this site new pay member a few months back. I have a ? about D?? I have E now an love it, we will be moving into a new house end of june. The wife wants to go with D so we can bundle with qwest out here in PHX. My new house only has 1 line per room, an everyone says D will need 2 lines per box. Is this true?? I don't want any new holes in the new house. But if not still will be a happy E HD watcher.

Only for the DVR do you need 2 lines (one for each tuner). But many new installs are doing without 2 lines. They use some device (someone else can give you more info) that allows you to use one line.

I'm still trying to figure out this whole business with live testing. For anything other than picture quality, such as the duplicate channel issue, couldn't they just simulate it to avoid causing problems on the production hardware? As I've said of their previous bugs, they're the sole providers of hardware, software, and programming for their service, so they really shouldn't have problems popping up unexpectedly when new things go public, unlike a PC where you don't know what the user might have done to his system to make it incompatible.

Quick clarification: By "ALL OF THEM" do you mean the two Disney ones and Cartoon Network (which you mentioned in another thread), or do you mean all the remaining items from the list?

Thanks!

What ever happened to Cartoon Network HD that also had a technical issue? Was supposed to be launched and now several weeks later not a word about it.

Dish may not be the leader in HD anymore (despite their marketing and CSRs) but they sure are the leader in HD excuses.

Scott by ALL OF THEM do you mean the other 22 hd channels that Charlie announced a while back?

Nice Hi-jack.....

Another week of predictions, another week of the prediction NOT happening.
Everyone is quick to say Scott was right but DISH changed their plan. But one thing is for certain if HD is predicted, it WON'T happen.
So can we PLEASE lay off the predictions for next week.

How about this, stop crying.

You didn't lose anything did you?

Noooooooooo

If anything, you have a little more insight as to what is around the corner then the avg Dish customer. Right?

Yeeees.

So please, until Scott hurts some of you personally/physically with one of his offerings of information, everyone should just relax.

dslates's posts annoy me, but I dont know that he should be put on vacation. There are so many folks besides him who complain, whine and moan about so much stuff, that his post in this thread didnt seem so severe...

dslate,

Last warning, if you don't like it then go somewhere else. One more outburst from you then you are on vacation.
It's an outburst to question the source that you keep quoting for your predictions?
Even in this thread you have people asking you questions on upcoming programming when your source has yet to hit one.
I just thought I would ask for ONE week on NO predictions so we could actually GET some HD.
Sorry, I love the uplink activity and actual DISH news so we can surmise what is around the corner. Do we really need the "my sources say" post.
I am just trying to give CONSTRUCTIVE criticism.

I will put myself on vacation since I don't want to miss out on the next bit of "inside information".
