Prepaid ?

Do you have service with D* already and adding on, or just setting it up for the first time ?
Reason I'm asking is, IF your already a D* sub , you can buy from BB and set it up, check for a good signal and call in and they will activate it.

I do not know for sure if they allow you to buy from BB and set the stuff up and call in for the original install or not anymore.

They use to, because I did that, but it was many years ago.

They pretty much like to have thier dept. do the initial installs so they don't have pointing issues later.

so if my credit is bad and i have a past due account there isnt a way to get directv?

The first thing to do is pay off that past due DirecTV account. They won't even consider doing anything if you still owe them money.

i want to come to an agreement to lower what is due on my account. They won't talk to me though and the collections wants a lump sum which i don't have. I did send the receiver back yesterday though.

Return the reciver that will credit yoru account with in 72 hours after use scanning it in to our inventory system.

then just call us make a payment ( does not have to be in full ) then next time a collection agent calls just dispute the amount that will get them off yoru back for 30 days or so. Then make another payment directly to us again and rinse and repeat till your done.

i was hoping directv would work with me on the amount or am i out of luck there?

Not much we can do . Like I said calling us directly we will always tke what ever you can pay on the debt and be alot nicer then the collection agencies. Also there no 5 dollar phone transaction fee for collection accounts.

I would say this it is easier to pay us and every time the collection agency calls tell them there infomation is wrong as it will be. Tell them your paying directv , directly for the bill. Some back off others wont. But this is a issue where trying to work out something before you got that far back would of been easier then trying to get any kind of help now.
Not even Operations manager could work with you once your in coll as far as turning you back on.

i don't think that is right that i am willing to pay and directv won't work with me. I might just have to hit up dish network and hopefully they will work with me since directv won't.

Sorry your 700 back that is crazy. Also as I tell all my customers , We can do so much more before you get turn off then we can once you are turn off.

Curious,
What are the criteria for getting shut off ?
So many months, or amounts of money ?
Or does it just depend on the individual account ?

so there isn't anything directv can do to get my bill down to a manageable level and i am stuck paying (i think she said $763.16).

OK it pretty simple.

First a amount due has to become more then 30 days old when it becomes past due

11 days after your bill cyle date ( day your new bill is generated ) The past due amount is required to keep the service from being interupted.

Once interupted your in a level 1 disconnect. Full payment would be needed to reinsate service. You get what we call minium service channels cspan bloomberg church channels

So after that we will keep minium service active for another 30 days before going into level 2. Level 2 is a complete turn off. And any an ECF is charged if customer was under contract. Once in level 2 they basically have some other amount to time long and short from Past due - level 1 to level 2 time = 90 days of past due . On day 91 it goes to collections.

Only thing I could think of is if he kept his recivers and paid off the amount due minus NRF ( non returned reciver ) and (ECF) we would reverse both.

There is no real dollar amount we will turn off for it is about time of past due debt over 15 dollars. ( any amount past due that under 15.00 is rolled over to next month.)

I cant confirm anything till i see the account.

But basically yes you racked up hte debt they are goingto want the money before turning you back on. You might be better at dish .
