Finally KOKI in Tulsa dropped the Cool Tv and switched on MeTv on their digital subchannel 23.2 today. Now to get dish to update the guide listings. That was the only subchannel we had that Dish didn't have listings for. Kind of important now.

from doing some more investigating it looks like the contract between CoolTV and the owner (Newport TV) was over and they all switched. Some got MeTV, some got ThisTV and our buddy gpollock (the Fearnet dude) got Live Well on his Fox affiliate (he PM'd me about it)

Technically KOKI and it's sister station KMYT are no longer Newport stations. They were sold to Cox Media a few weeks ago. That sale is expected to close in the 4th quarter 2012.

We already have ThisTv and Live Well Network in Tulsa on Griffin Communications and Scripps subchannels. RTV on Albritton station and KMYT still has the The Country Net on its subchannel. We just need someone to add AntennaTv now.

oh I know....but its kinda ironic that all the former Newport (technically they are until the FCC approves it) drops them on the same day so obviously it was contract related

If it weren't for WBBJ carrying MeTV 3 hrs a day i bet i would have MeTV fulltime on my local fox. I am still gonna call WJKT tommorrow.

That's what I hear. My neighbor is one of the morning anchors on Fox 23. Approval is just a formality from what they have all been told. I have to wonder though, as Cox has a very large presence here. They have the cable charter for Tulsa and most of the metro, and also own several of the biggest radio stations here too.
