Getting problem communicating with dish 775 error, the troubleshoot that comes up on the screen is not helpful, both check out and it doesn't give me any other options. Not sure what else to check for this problem. There was a power loss, but the power has been turned back on, not sure if that makes a difference.

:welcome to Satelliteguys!

A 775 error means you aren't communicating with the lnb. Check all of your connections, including the power inserter. If they look okay, then unplug everything, then plug in the power inserter first, then your receivers/dvrs one at a time until they boot up fully.

Do all of my receivers need to be plugged in in order for this to work? I shut the power off to the ones we don't use regularly earlier today, could this be why I'm getting the error?

Welcome to the Site !

Try what Chip mentioned and let us know.

I would concentrate on disconnecting the Power Inserter , unplug as well ...
Unplugging the recvrs probably isn't necessary, but you probably will have to reset them regardless, (red button behind access door) AFTER you have done the work with the Power Inserter.

Shut power off to them, do you mean on the Electrical panel ?
Using the on/off button on the recvrs really doesn't turn them off, just the front panel.

You probably unplugged the power inserter as well

Shut off, unplugged from the electrical outlet on the wall. Did I screw them all up?

No. When you set up a swm system, you are supposed to connect the power inserter first, then the receivers/dvrs.

Your alright, if everything is unplugged, find the Power Inserter and plug it in, let it sync up, green light on unit, then plug in your other recvrs, or you can do one at a time if you want.

I'm getting an Error 775. I do not have an independent power inserter - the SWiM is internal in the main unit. I disconnected the unit and wiated 10 seconds and nothing happened, still getting the same error. Also, tried resetting the unit (red button on right side of unit) and this did not work either. I did some looking and saw a yellow triangle with an exclamation point next to SNB and the number 100. Does this have anything to do with the problem? How do I fix this problem?

So you have an HR54 or H44(the only models with a built in PI)?
If so, make sure the HR54 is connected to the red power passing port of any splitter you have.
The service port message is irrelevant, it's for services not yet available.

:welcome to Satelliteguys Cholly52!

Also, check all of the connections between the receiver/dvr and the dish. You may have a loose/bad connection somewhere.

How many receivers in your house? How many lines coming from the dish?

If you have more than 1 receiver and 1 wire coming off the dish then you definitely have a SWM system.

If you have a SWM system, I'm 100 percent certain you have a power inserter unless you either have an H44 receiver or an HR54

The power inserter is somewhere. Just trace the line from the dish until you find it.
