Issues Surrounding CUI Update

It is for me, I'm struggling with it now. Cox has made huge strides recently in our area and with the bundling and price guarantees, it's not an easy decision for us.....

Made the switch a year ago Cox bundle and have no regrets. My dad, sister and step sister did the same. Everyone is happy with it. Picture Quality is very good, channel selections are equal. My sister is using the 6 tuner contour 2, the rest of us have tivos.

I personally like having 2 HWS..........it better suits my setup
The main HWS has a wireless joey assigned to it
The 2nd HWS is used to send the hd signal to an adjacent room tv via Ethernet/component & also upstairs to a seldom used tv via a wireless setup different from the wireless joey.
Plus the 4K joey is not wireless & I don't feel like crawling under the house & running more wires

Thanks...I already have the internet and phone with Cox. I've seen and used their boxes via local family members who have it and was impressed.

The loss of the 4x forward speed is alone enough for me to not want it. Even more so than the guide dropping to 2.5 hours from 3.

Has anyone sent a PM to Vivek about this issue? He does read the forums from time to time.
Ya know, Vivek is an Executive Officer at Dish. While he visits the forums from time to time I don't think we should be directly PMing him about any thing at all. I once had a PM with him but he initiated the conversation based on something that was said in a thread. Charley visits the forums from time to time and I wouldn't PM him either. Enough Dish people see that 4X is high on our list for a return. I would expect that it comes up in a meeting or two. If we hammer the executives with PMs I would expect them to just drop us like we weren't there.

I'm actually surprised to see the amount of members on here that have yet to upgrade to the H3. It's so much better than the other models.
And also more expensive. If Dish would let us keep the grandfathered DVR fee, or let existing customers qualify for the $10 per month rate like new customers do, then I would be all over an upgrade to H3. As it is, meh! :p

It's the best DVR in the industry. Compare it to what all other providers charge for their DVRs and determine if it's worth $15 or not.

To me, not when I have a ViP722k for $10. :p

If you're just going by your budget then it makes sense for you. If you actually look at what that price is giving you then you'd see you're paying a lot more money for that outdated 772k. You get SO much more for an extra $5 a month with the H3. If it doesn't fit your budget then that's the really the only thing that matters but if you look at the things you spend $5 on every day you'd see that you're getting a lot more for your money.

Just one way to look at it.

Vivek is a great guy. I remember meeting him at Team Summit and he talked to me for a bit. He has a lot of respect for this forum.

I don't doubt that at all but can you imagine how many PMs he probably receives ? That is, if it's not already set up shop that people CAN'T send him any.

I'm guessing he either has them off or just ignores them completely. Too many messages, some good and some crazy.
