only thing i dont want is the new screen sav and guide tip message

The list of serial numbers that are valid ends in the 76 series. If your serial number is above 76* you won't get it.
I'm in the 77 series; I am not eligible yet either. I'm guessing this scope will be increased on Monday.
Cheers,
RedWings,
I'm kind with you on this one. Activating the ethernet doesn't seem to have any real purpose at this time and I don't have an external hard drive to hook up. I am encouraging my family NOT to use the DVR for long term storage since we just upgraded to HD service and "lost" about 100+ hours of stored programs that we had on the 625 when they swapped it out for the 622. My wife bought DVDs of the stuff we really wanted. (That amounted to a grand total of 2 DVDs...... kinda makes ya think about what you were storing)

How annoying it is depends on how much time you sit and watch the screen saver. If you watched the old screen saver for hours on end and really loved it, then you will find the new screen saver a big adjustment.
In other words, it isn't a biggie since you only "watch" the screen saver for maybe a half second when you turn on the TV or in the middle of the night to turn it off after you wipe the slobber from your cheek, now sporting a new impression matching your couch fabric.
sorry if this has been answered and I did try using the search with too many hits. From what I understand you can only plug one external hard drive at a time correct? Now, once I plug one in is that the only one I will be able to use or can I unplug that first one and plug in a new one(for example, if the first one is full)? I currently have an extra WD 500 gig, but considering buying another one with 750 gig (on sale at BB for under 200 bucks).
Thanks for your answer!
Unlimited hard drives - just one at a time. Also, the drive only works with that receiver (for now). So, if you have two receivers (622/722), then you could have a dozen drives for EACH receiver - all for the same one-time enabling fee.sorry if this has been answered and I did try using the search with too many hits. You can connect an unlimited number of drives to your 622/722, just only can use one at a time.

Where do you see that?
I call BS on this one (or at least just pointing out missing smiley)All I can say is, I’m sure glad I DVR’d the old screen saver when I did.
I an guessing this has been posted but this new update is messing up the record time extension
If I knew a show was running over, like a FB game I could hit the record button and add time
Now it says i have it set for manual stop which is not true
