This is my last month of Dish. I have A Dell 580s with a Core i3, 4GB RAM, an ATI HD4650, an AVERTV HD Dual tuner card for OTA and WIndows 7 Ultimate 64bit with Media Center. It's slim so it fits on the shelf my 622 was on and I have been recording OTA, watching Netflix and Amazon VOD, as well...

I'm watching The Birds currently from the first EHD I setup in 2007. I recorded this copy of the movie from the MONSTERS channel, part of the Voom network. I moved it over to EHD in October of 2007 and it's playing fine right now.

The EHD process is not as smart as the DVR. You need to press pause, then stop so that the dvr remembers where you left off when watching a show straight off the EHD. I have noticed that resume on an EHD show picks up from the last place you pressed pause if you go back to replay a show you...

I have an EHD that does this to me more often then not. You just have to turn it off and then back on again until it is recognized. Some drives are less useful as an ehd than others. I hope you didn't FORMAT the drive...

Looks like L627 fixes the ehd deleting show problem. I noticed I had the 627 update on my machine so i tested my ehd and no shows got deleted. Finally...

It will delete after you watch the next ehd recording. The FF/REW thing is not the problem. The problem is when you watch your second recorded program of the day, it will be deleted.

Dish just doesn't care. Their response to emails to DishQuality, Tech, and CEO are less than helpful and indicate that the customer is unimportant. Their behavior is much the same way as a studio cancelling a show because the viewing audience dips below 12 million. All they care about is...

Reboot the DVR every time = INSANE I doubt this is a "bug". Sounds more like programmer sabotage.

Go check out HDMI Cable Information Center -- Blue Jeans Cable and read their write-up on HDMI before you spend money on anything. I personally run a 35 foot HDMI cable no problem.
