Good FTA HD channels & receiver

I've been spending some time looking at LNBs and how to mod/test some of them. I'm not so sure the scan matter is related to weather its circular or linear as much as it is a HI or LO freq.. The circular lnb (11250 GHz) will scan great no matter what settings I use in the setup menu. Its found...

vc2, nice option, sounds more like full refund rather than some compromised return.

Good FTA HD channels & receiver

VSMAXHD I noticed today that some web sites removed any claims that this unit can blind scan. The "read me" text with the latest (v1.7) software says that improvements in "bind scan" were improved, so reinstalled v1.4, thinking that updates may have screwed things up. I tried scanning with new...

Good FTA HD channels & receiver

VSMAXHD I've received a vsmax from GoSat and I share concerns about the unit. No, it wont blind scan. After upgrading the main software to v1.7, it still wont blind scan, can't add or change names on sats. I can pick up ASN on Anik1 at nearly 98% w/Pansat 2700a, but the VSMAX only shows about...

DVB-S or DVB-S2, SDTV or HDTV receiver which type to choose?

Viewsat max (vsmaxhd) I just received a Viewsat max today and was severely disappointed that it wouldn't blind scan well at all ! Now I'm trying to find out what the problem is, looks like I'm not alone on this matter. As Ice had pointed out, I was expecting to blind scan w/Pansat 2700a and...

looking for a conical scalar ring for c-band

The photo was originaly posted on page 38 of the " 120cm dish with C-Band performace - Now with HD ! " thread, July 28, 05' . http://www.satelliteguys.us/free-air-fta-discussion/32726-120cm-dish-c-band-performance-now-hd-38.html I had cut the back out of an ASC 421 and attached a Ku lnbf...

looking for a conical scalar ring for c-band

I tried that on a 5' dish, two yrs ago. Cant remember the exact results. I believe there should be a post here, somewhere, Id made. I'll see if I can find it.

looking for a conical scalar ring for c-band

cone experiment While your waiting to find a conical cone, you might try this. A plastic funel from the store, lined with some aluminum tape from the hardware store. In spite of its looks, it works very well.

    2 C-Band LNB's on one 6' dish :)

C band, dual feed Some time back I wanted to try a C/Ku feed experiment. I was only able to recieve maybe 75% of a stand alone Ku lnb with this unit. But, it worked very well for the C band !! I've been wondering about adding an analog lnb to the unit, but as yet have not tried it. The plastic...

    Bsc621-2 C/ku Lnbf

Bsc 621 Tim, thankyou, your tech. data is very informative to everyone here. I've measured the dish mesh at 100 thou. , the pencil lead at 90 thou.. Ive tried a Ku LNBF on this dish and have found very good results. with both Vertical and Horizontal signals. The Vertical portion of the BSC 621...

    Bsc621-2 C/ku Lnbf

I'd recieved a BSC 621 from Sadoun, great folks there. Just yesterday I'd mounted the unit on a 10' dish I'd salvaged. The C band portion of the unit has been operating very well, some signals have gone up 25-50% more, switching from a 5' to a 10' dish. The C band portion of this unit seems to...

looking for a conical scalar ring for c-band

Home made cone I was able to take some old flat scalers and machine them so the rings could be stacked. Id sent them to PSB and Cascade for testing purposses. Its not an easy matter but they do seem to help the signal. I hope spindoctor will get some more, Im not sure Id be to crasy about...

    Bsc621-2 C/ku Lnbf

I am presently using my Ku incorporated into the C band scaler and have tried to optimize the ku signal. It works fairly well, but the Ku is not as good as mounting the Ku by itself. Is there a noise rating for the Ku side of this combo your testing ?
