Am I confusing ATSC and NTSC...? I could have sworn that the bandwidth allowed for each network by the FCC was either 16MHz or 19MHz, and each network/affiliate could choose to split that into however many "subsets" as they wanted.

Ditto for my 50" Vizio. Immediately after switching from 4:3 to 16:9, I can see the old crop edges, but after only a few seconds (maybe :30 at most), the new full screen view is "clean". This is two years old now, and I would not consider it "high end".

Keep in mind that you can also press the YELLOW button and select "Previous Channels". If these are your most watched channels, you will see the channel number AND what is currently playing on that channel. Can't remember what version of updates included this feature, but recently...

Somewhat back on topic for a second... ;) Some channels, such as Discovery, still broadcast some programming that was shot in SD before HD became the "norm" and to help fill the screen, and without stretching, will zoom the image a little bit. For instance, watch an old Dirty Jobs...

Okay, ran Network Test on HR20 and now all is well. Not the smoothest of installs when you factor all the extra effort, but the payoff can easily be worth the $30 lifetime fee. :up

"No Signal" screen wouldn't go away...no response from box at all...had to do RBR. This is getting frustrating...

Rebooting DVR seems to have helped, but now I am getting a message saying that the DVR couldn't not communicate with my PC. Tried to load a different movie, and the screen went blank (TV says "No Signal"). Time for a DVR network test....

May still need to reboot the DVR, but after successful reinstall/upgrade of PlayOn, the Netflix folder still says "unable to read file", but other folders allow access. Will report back after Cowboys game...

:D I hate these movies...but it is now personal!! And all this time, and I am also rebuilding a friends laptop and it is also throwing some tantrums. I am being challenged across the board tonight. But I rarely back down from a challenge. This .NET install is taking FOREVER!!!

Downloaded .NET Framework 3.5 SP1 directly from MSDN...maybe that will work...

I am installing the new PlayOn software as we speak and one thing that is different fro two days ago is that the install paused saying that I needed .NET Framework 3.5 installed prior to completing the PlayOn install. It is downloading/installing .NET right now... PS - This is PlayOn version...
