Annoyance while aiming a Dish 500

Thanks for you response. A better sat finder is clearly the best answer - but at a price of well over $100 for a one-time use, that isn't going to happen. And it is hard to get the simple device connected wrong when there are only two F-connectors (one labeled TO LNB an one labeled TO RCVR)...

Which LNB with a Dish 500 reflector?

My bad, Dutch, and I apologize. Although my home is in Arizona, as my profile shows, the location I am trying to fix is central Maine. I wonder if the A42909 LNB mentioned in post #8 above would receive the Eastern Arc (61.5 and 71.7) on a 500 reflector? From Maine, the EA is actually much...

Which LNB with a Dish 500 reflector?

Nuts. I was afraid of that. So what are they? Apparently "Dish Pro Plus" refers to a wide range of LNBs.

Which LNB with a Dish 500 reflector?

Bobby - Not a bad thought, but - I am not "already at the Dish" - it is high up in a tree, and I don't want to play around up there any more than I have to. I already have the 500 reflector, mounted and aimed - I do not have a 1000.2 reflector. I already have the LNBs I think I need, so why buy...

Which LNB with a Dish 500 reflector?

NYDutch - "The A42909 is an eastern arc (61.5 & 72.7) LNBF" - that might account for the slightly different spacing of the feeds, the Eastern arc satellites being spaced differently from the western arc birds Your picture looks like what is up there now. So there really is no cross-reference...

Which LNB with a Dish 500 reflector?

I looked for the answer to this question, with no luck. Forgive me if I have missed it. I have a Dish 500 reflector, mounted high up. It has a DishProPlus LNB, which has been damaged. I have at least two spare DishProPlus LNBs, but they don't physically look like the one that is in there now...

Looking for a member from Bangor Maine

I've corresponded with this member once or twice in the past month, but have now lost his forum contact info. I'm a sorta new member, don't know if it is possible to search members by location. Any help out there? It is perfectly OK with me if you send him my query, making it his option to...

Can I use an old 110/119 antenna on 61.5/72.7?

Thanks, Jonyac - I live in Wells (south coast near Kennebunk). My camp is on Schoodic Lake near Milo (30 mi north of Bangor). How much would you take for your spare setup? Bill

Can I use an old 110/119 antenna on 61.5/72.7?

I have a camp/cottage in a very wooded spot in central Maine. For several years, I have had an old round Dish reflector, about 18 inches diameter (I think a 500), with an old two-eye LNB, mounted on a tree. Through the forest, this setup had line of sight to 119, but not to 110. It worked well...

Hopper Duo does not a connector for a UHF antenna

The replacement Hopper Duo arrived, I connected it, and experienced the same problem. I called Dish one last time, and after a long and stern conversation - no yelling, no name-calling, but less pleasant than in the past - the girl agreed to replace my 40.0 remotes with 54.0 remotes, at no cost...

Hopper Duo does not a connector for a UHF antenna

I don't suppose I could arrange to do the exchange with you???? I would pay shipping both ways - for four remotes, that shouldn't be too bad. But I can't afford (and won't pay) for four new remotes at retail. Bill

My local channels are not in HD

This may be a dumb question, but is Dish fully aware that he is located in Cincinnati? I ask because we move between Maine and Arizona every year, and we carry our Dish receiver with us. When we get to our destination, sure enough, all the local channels are missing. I have to call Dish, tell...

Hopper Duo does not a connector for a UHF antenna

Problem resolved? Maybe. I finally got Dish to send out a tech. I showed him my problem (short range of control from the 40.0), and showed him that all my 40.0 remotes did the same thing. He agreed that there is a problem, which was a good start. But he pulled a 54.0 remote out of his pocket...

Hopper Duo does not a connector for a UHF antenna

Let me add one more tidbit. I have a wired Joey in the bedroom, on the other side of a wall constructed of standard drywall-on-studs. The Hopper drives the Joey via the Hopper's "To Hub" output, and a Hybrid Solo. In other words, it is using the second tuner in the Hopper. I have yet another...

Hopper Duo does not a connector for a UHF antenna

Let me describe this line-of-sight thing again. I stand anywhere in the front quadrant of the Hopper, 6 feet away from it, and both remotes control the Hopper. I move to the side of the Hopper, again 6 feet away, and neither remote works. Actually, if I stand in the front quadrant, as much as...
