What would be cool is if you have your receiver connected to the internet, the minute the system detected any kind of signal loss from rain & snow fade then it would automatically switch over to DirecTV Stream to continue recording or viewing

I did use a T10 Torx Screwdriver as there was 4 screws holding the hard drive in place but they all came out with ease

I swapped out the HDD in the HR24 and it couldn’t have been easier, the hardest part was getting the cover off without breaking the clips but beyond that it was very easy. I put in a 2TB Seagate Barracuda($63) and it fired right up and back to life. Now to try the 3TB in my HR44(once I watch...

I already have an HR44 along with another working HR22 & H24 but I’d definitely like to add another genie to my account if possible

I own both these units and they need new hard drives. Can I use any 2TB drives? I was thinking about WD Purple drives. Someone mentioned that the HR24 drive needs to be 2.5” but I'm not sure. I was also thinking about going external but I think the eSATA docking stations are hard to find now...

As far as I know they are still able to be activated, although the only receivers they sell now are the whole home PVR & Clients. I’d try calling again if the card is outdated tell them to send you a new one. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Actually the signal is just fine. Our DirecTV account is located at our main home in Minot N.D. and we have a receiver at our Canadian home in Regina S.K. and we can even get our locals with 75-83% signal strength and 88-98% signal strength on the other sats. But a VPN would be needed for on...
