I didn't do anything special. As they say- it just worked! I am connected via HDMI. Native mode off in HR21-100. Resolution fixed at 1080i.

When you go into the HDTV setup, there's an option for 1080p in there now. After checking it, it will automatically test your display to confirm that you can see the content. This is just a basic test showing a pop-up message and doesn't show any video, which is probably what you were looking for.
