    Problem V-Box

mister_dk, shot in the dark with this one, if you're comfortable opening the V-Box up you may find one of the capacitors either swollen or blown. I had almost the same problem with mine. IIRC they're 470uF@50V and tied to the relays but looking at the PCB they're also part of the signal path - I...

Conical Scalar ring for offset dish c-band

Just a flying visit :) Nice to see some of the old faces, I finally moved to a place with lots of open space so I can see the full arc - the mini-bud with the conical scalar is still alive, although stationary for now. Keep at it!

Conical Scalar ring for offset dish c-band

Holy crap, this mini-bud thing is still alive?

How much would you be willing to pay for a Conical Scalar Ring?

This one just keeps on running... :) brotherhood, the conical scalar I use for my Fortec 1.2M dish still works beautifully and analogue C-band is still some of my favourite programming - beats the standard SD quality from any Dish/DTV channel hands down.

    NOAAPort on Ku

There's a package for Solaris and RH Linux. If you can run VMWare or another VM like Bochs you may make some more sense of the protocol involved etc. http://www.ssec.wisc.edu/mcidas/software/xcd/dvb/

What do I need to get started??

If you're using the unused machine as a server of sorts there are all kinds of apps you can use to remotely record, PCI cards are more compatible and less of a headache (IMO) and grabbing/streaming video from the server to another machine/xbox etc is a true thing of beauty. If the machine has...

    Dvb-s2

Digging up an oldt post, here's a little more info on DVB-S2: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/DVB-S2 In case someone has a 300M dish on a 500 mile-high pole, Astra 19.2°E has been transmitting S2 since last year. I doubt it's an immediate issue over here so you can go ahead and order that Fortec...

Nexus-S and ATI Radeon PCI-Express Card

It should* still work over here. the only real difference between DVB-S(1) over there is the horizontal resolution and framerate, none of which should matter that much in the digital realm. *protecting my ass incase someone buys one and it doesn't work

Nexus-S and ATI Radeon PCI-Express Card

I don't have a DVB card or receiver at the moment but when my lottery numbers come up this is what I'll be going for: http://www.elgato.com/index.php?file=products_eyetv300 The only thing I found for the Mac that is supposed to work with regular PCI cards such as the Twinhan or Nova is...

Nexus-S and ATI Radeon PCI-Express Card

I got tired of the Windows thing too, I dumped all but one of my PCs a while ago and now my main machine is an older Mac and I can now see what the fuss is about. If you're ever on Usenet the latest RC of SUSE has been posted. Before you jump ship, did you try MCE2005, IIRC even the...

Nexus-S and ATI Radeon PCI-Express Card

greyskies, which version of Catalyst are you using? ATI aren't known for their great drivers when it comes to TV in or out. Check over at rage3d forums, I had a similar issue with an All-In-Wonder card I had years ago. When I wake up I'll have more of a think.

    BBC World on a 1.2 m dish?

If I recall I had BBC something from the 120cm C band setup blazing through, i'm not 100% sure if it was from that bird as it was a long time ago and my dish hasn't been up in a long time. If Pete keeps his private message logs I remember PMing him about it but it was ages ago.
