I have enjoyed it during the trial. I did notice pretty quickly though the absence of AXS TV, Nat Geo, FX, TBS, and TNT. Not much in the way of news channels either.

I am totally guessing on this one, but could FHTBX be FightBox TV? It's a pretty good channel from what I've seen on Roku.

I have thought about maybe getting a Chromecast specifically so that I can watch my DirecTV in one of the rooms that doesn't have a receiver installed. Will that D* app work on Chromecast, or can I just bring up the webpage where I can get the DirecTV Player software like I would on the computer?

I didn't realize that until you said something. Starz! seems like the more established brand over Encore, so I wouldn't be surprised if they changed Starz! Encore Black and Starz! Encore Family eventually. I wouldn't mind seeing a documentary, horror, or even a sports-movie theme for one of them.

I think Starz! Encore Westerns HD and Starz! Encore Suspense HD would be nice additions, but I believe only 4 Starz! Encore channels are actually broadcasting in HD right now (though I'm not sure the resolution and how much is just SD upgraded): Starz! Encore Action HD (looks good on DirecTV)...

I'm a little wary of how good it will be if NONE of the original staff will be back full-time, but at least they will be making special appearances and hosting. I'll give it a chance, but it sounds like fans may be better off enjoying the originals on FOX Now.

Losing H2 makes me crave Military History Channel even more now.

It is Vice Land, the rebranding of H2 that I think officially takes place on March 1st. I really enjoy Vice programming, but I wish it wouldn't replace H2.

Perhaps the best successor to Universal Sports Network will be the upcoming Olympics Channel? I don't know much about it, but I'd imagine it will have a lot of the same type of programming.

Are those the ones that are already on DirecTV, including a Spanish version? If so, I was referring to the ones that are on the HD Comparison chart that look like they are rather limited to Time Warner Cable subs right now.

Oh, okay. I stand corrected. That's different. I thought this was referring to Time Warner Cable, and I figured regulatory approval for that would be a long shot. Would a potential merger with Time Warner make it possible for AT&T to add some of the regional news / sports Time Warner...

I like NewsMax, but it seems like OAN has more news throughout a 24 hour cycle than NewsMax. NewsMax has a lot of great history documentaries though. I wouldn't compare CNN to Fox News in terms of offering news, but everybody is entitled to their opinion. I won't shout out hatred or flame bait...

After the AT&T merger with DirecTV, I would be surprised if an AT&T merger with Time Warner Cable was even allowed by regulators. Stranger things have happened though.

I am bummed and would love to see Al Jazeera English replace it, but I seriously doubt that will happen. If the rumors of One America News replacing it are true, I honestly don't mind. I would love to see a respectable conservative news channel like OAN to compete with Fox "News."
