Yea, I"m trying to use the FS-1 also. I like the meter itself...if I can figure it out! I think that all of the parameters have to be put in manually. I"m waiting for an email from the company to try and explain. I will post the email here when I get it.
Do you have a friend with a Birdog meter? That's the one recommended for tuning the slimline. I'm sure there are others out there that are cheaper though.
I saw a brand of receivers called Traxis. Are the decent? And are they user friendly? Are they just as good as the viewsat and coolsat brands? I'm just now getting my feet wet with FTA stuff. Thanx.
I found out that the seller has the boxes on consignment (retailer, HSP, or something) and has a limited time to get them activated or pay for them out of his(or her) pocket. So, as long as they are activated on an account they are legal...right?
I am a licensed and insured installer. Is it possible to get leads straight from D* for home installs in my area? Or how do I register with other providers to be a contractor?
Do I need to get a leased receiver from DTV or can I buy one from e-bay? Are the ones on e-bay legal? They are new in box and the seller says that they can be activated, so does it matter? Where do they get them and does DTV care where it comes from as long as I'm paying my monthly bill? Thanks...
Remember me? I asked about the legality of FTA. My main goal right now is Japanese channels. Where do I go to pick up the most channels? I have a good size list of clients I'd like to install a system for strictly legitimately!! No hacking here, I'm too busy to keep up with all that.
A friend told me that FTA systems are illegal and are considered piracy. I don't want to go to prison anytime soon!! What's the word on this? What channels can I get for free, I heard that the number is around 600-800.
In simple terms...no the basic LNB will not pick up the 95. you need the international dish. It will also pick up the 101 so you only need the one dish. Unless you have HD then you need the KA/KU and the int'l dishes together with a 6x8. I have what you need. Contact me at...
Push reset on the receiver with both lines hooked up. The box will reset and recognize the 2nd line. If this doesn't work, try swapping the lines on the back of the receiver and see if the problem switches too.
