I switched from a 722 to a hopper (one tv). The hopper is better than the 722 in virtually every way, and is more reliable. It's a real accomplishment for Dish, I think, to release a box with software this good.

Looking at another thread (in the hopper subforum), I uninstalled and re-installed the app (there also seems to have been an update) on my tablet. Initial tests indicate that it's now working fine! Really nice. Cool beans.

The next day I tried it again, and had success on the Galaxy SIII. The 10.1 tablet, though, is still broken in the same was as I reported above. I dunno what changed to get the SIII working --- I did reboot the hopper, but it could have been a change on their end.

The app does look good. The UI is much improved. It connects really quickly to the receiver, and you are looking at your recordings or guide in no time. However, I've not gotten much past that. On my phone, if I try and view a recording or a live show, I get a blank screen. On my...

Well, I tried to use the app again last night. It would show me a guide, although it was the wrong guide (wrong locals). It would not find my DVR. However, when I selected a show from the guide, I could view it (and the sling adapter showed up in the tuner list on my hopper when I did so)...

Followups. I played with it a bit; for issue #1, I discovered that if I hit the quality button, the video will sync back up with my choice. for issue #2 I have no work-around, but an interesting note. When I came home for lunch I looked at my hopper, and the external drive was no longer...

Works ok here --much better resolution on my tablet than before. Two problems, though: - you can now browse your DVD/guide while watching TV. However, if I try to change channels while doing so, the video freezes (sound switches over, though). - I can't see my ehd -- those recordings...
