A few days ago, I got U272 on my Joey 2's' and the problem seems to have disapeared.

I have a Hopper 3 with U336 and 3 Joeys with U271. Periodically the Joey's screen will go blank and the sound will stop. This occurs in live and DVR mode. Changing the channel will restore the Joey. On the DVR restarting the show corrects this issue. This issue started with the latest software...

I just downloaded U336 and can now access my Ext. Hard drive for the first time in 2 months. I have not seen any new problems

Received update this morning. No fix on external hard drive issue. Called tech. support and was told the problem will be solved mid January. Dish's software support is very sad.

This morning my Joey 2's were upgraded to U270. I have not noticed any changes. I am hopefull my Hopper 3 will get an update soon and correct my missing external drive problem.

It's been over a month for this issue. When is it going to be fixed? You broke it. Fix it. Gary

I just connected a new drive to my Hopper, and it is not seen.

I have the same issue, but only have 1 external drive. I believe this issue is caused by the latest firmware update, 331. I have spent about an hour talking to tech support with no resolution. I have tested my drive and it appears OK. The problem is in Dish's system, but has not been addressed.

I just got the update last night and am unable to see my external drive. The sources icon is missing. I have rebooted the hopper and drive with no sucess. The drive is powered and running. I have check all 3 usb connections and none of them work. I want to dump this update.

I tried it again and three of the four worked. I elected to keep the old controllers. I am using them to control my Joeys. I have a Harmony 700 for the Hopper. I still feel the same about the new interface, but can live with it. Thanks for the help.
