    Vinyl Collectors out there?

I looked up the HPM-100's as I have a minor obsession with speakers. eBay has them for 4-500 clams. Must be some pretty awesome speakers. I'm gonna start looking into a good receiver, or commandeer my fathers. ;) I do know it was much like the Pioneer shown several posts up, dunno if it was...

Sorry I only had this section of the site (the Pub) bookmarked. Guess you can move it. :D

    Vinyl Collectors out there?

My brother calls this my "new thing." Every once in a while I go nuts on some thing, spend money and then forget about it. But I think this is something I can use daily, and I have been. I wanted other people to share in my new thing, and get some idea of what others have.

    Vinyl Collectors out there?

My father has a Realistic LAB-52 turntable he got in the 70's and it still runs perfectly. The automatic start and return is fluid. He took really good care of it (one of the reasons I bought my own TT, a Realistic LAB-310 Belt Drive). I don't think this stuff will ever die. It was built to...

    Vinyl Collectors out there?

I did ask an off topic question. Hijacked my own thread I guess. I have an awesome idea to build an entertainment center in my living room specifically for music. Gonna take some woodworking skills.

    Vinyl Collectors out there?

Took a bit of Googling but I found an answer to what the plug was for. It was in a PDF file for a user manual, had a nice picture diagram of what went where, so my fears are unwarranted. Guess someone had to say it.

    Vinyl Collectors out there?

Just looked 'em up. I want. I am using an old pair of Philips Magnavox bookshelf speakers that came with an old system. They sound great. Great range and a decent size magnet. I also feel like an utter noob. I figured out what the ground wire was for, and the plug on the back of my receiver. I...

    Vinyl Collectors out there?

Just wondering if anyone out there still collects music on vinyl? I recently came into some LPs from a friend, and after borrowing my dad's turntable I've been loving the sound that comes from them. I also started getting some newer music on vinyl. I've found it a very visceral experience...

    Bye bye Dish. Hello Internet

Also just found that the Meta Data site is kind of picky about file naming. Just finished converting a CSI New York episode. It was named "CSI NY S05E16.mkv" Every time I'd run the conversion it wouldn't get to the dvr-ms file, and the program would return an error of "File not found in...

No I'm using Windows Vista, and followed the instructions in the writeup. I have uTorrent pull down the HD feeds of shows (both mkv and avi). After completing the download, uTorrent moves the file to another folder where DTB picks it up and starts the conversion process. Takes 10-20 minutes...

    Bye bye Dish. Hello Internet

Got it working. Mistyped a couple of the lines of code. Now takes files from a folder converts them and puts them in my RecordedTV folder with no reduction in video and full 5.1 sound. Going to need some bigger HDDs. Maybe a Terabyte or two.

    Bye bye Dish. Hello Internet

I've had RSS feeds set up in uTorrent for a while, Best way to get a hold of TV shows. I have it set up to manually DL. I have to fiddle with the DVRms Toolbox, either I messed something up, or something. My test run didn't convert the file, and trying to read the log file was confusing. Or it's...

Holy crap that is an awesome guide. I'm gonna set it up right now. Thanks. Have to do it for BSG as Hulu would make me wait 8 days. Yeah, I'm not waiting that long.

Digi, I do have Netflix, the 3 at a time plus the BluRay fee. Don't have a Roku, I have a 360, plus a Vista Media Center plug-in. I've saved thousands being able to rent again. I know there is no way this free internet streaming will last forever, people learn to charge for and tax everything...
