    Replacing a Joey 1.0

I got the remote linked so she can use the remote she is used to but decided not to restore the timers. I have already set up her top 20 so figured it was better to just leave things as they are. She seems fine with what she has so why rock the boat.

    Replacing a Joey 1.0

Great news. Not only can I get her timer back for her but she can use the remote she is familiar with. I will set it up for when I get home tonight.

    Replacing a Joey 1.0

Yes, I kept all the old remotes and OTA tuners. Will the old remotes talk to the new system to transfer the settings? The installer said that they would not work due to different command protocols and software interface.

    Replacing a Joey 1.0

Just a quick follow up. Installer came Saturday and installed the H3 and two 2.0 Joey's. The H3 is nice and fast and the new interface is fairly easy to get used to. While not as fast as the H3, the new Joey's are significantly faster than the old ones and do just what we need them to. The only...

    Replacing a Joey 1.0

Correct, just now I only have one Hopper so I lose the ability to watch two different OTA channels at a time. However, the obvious solution is to just move the antenna connection from the Hopper that is going away to the TV itself and just watch my HD locals through it's tuner. Amazing how the...

    Replacing a Joey 1.0

Great, you just made my day. One channel at a time I can deal with. No HD locals would be harder to handle.

So, my existing USB adapters will not work with the H3?

    Replacing a Joey 1.0

Well, I am set up to get a H3 and two 2.0 Joey's Saturday. I think this will fix the issue with slow response time but I just thought of another question. I currently have a OTA antenna feeding both my HWS boxes. With the new setup I will just have one feed to the H3. Does this mean I will only...

    Replacing a Joey 1.0

I currently have 2 HWS and 2 Joey 1.0 receivers (planning on dropping one Joey). The Joey I am keeping is so slow that it is basically unusable. From reading the Forums, it seems like I have several possible solutions. 1. Request a replacement Joey and hope I get a 2.0 and that it helps. 2...

Call for tech or do it myself?

The good news is that using the hammer suggestion and my trusty JigSaw, I was able to get the cable back underground with no issues. As a FYI, I complained to Dish after the original install as the installer never put the cable more than an inch below ground and even less where he went over the...

Call for tech or do it myself?

DRCars, Great idea. Much better control of a hammer than something bigger. I think I will run a hose over it for a bit before I start also.

Call for tech or do it myself?

I was not as concerned about my landscape (bare packed dirt and tree roots) as cutting the lines while trying to fix them. If it wasn't in an area that the mower crosses, I would not even bother. I will break out the shovel and hatchet this weekend and see if I can manage not to cut the cables...

Call for tech or do it myself?

My cables from the dish to the house are being pushed out of the ground by roots and are in danger of being cut by my mower. There are two spots with about a foot of wire exposed in each place. Should I try burying them myself and run the risk of cutting then (hard packed dirt and lots of roots)...

    Isolated Hopper

One of the reasons I monitor this and other tech forums. Great information from great people for a great price.
