HBO & Cinemax for $20 a month for 6 months

If you first subscribe to a premium, such as HBO, at full price, you can get it for half off. The "secret" is to attempt to cancel it online. Dish will automatically offer you that premium at 50% off for 6 months. That would essentially make HBO $9. Not sure if it works for HBO, but I have used...

    Blockbuster@Home

Yes, this is an optional service that you are currently subscribing to. It can be easily removed by calling Dish, signing into your account online, or contacting a member of DIRT in this site. Keep in mind that this channel package has nothing to do with renting movies from Blockbuster, but...

    Square Trade Warranties

Dish protection plan is $7 per month. This does cover much more than just the receiver. The square trade seems like a good deal, if you just want to cover that one receiver. I've dealt with them Square Trade before, and they are very easy to work with when you have a problem (they pay shipping...

    Dish "Everything" package..

When Dish originally launched its "Everything" package, it included everything (except porn) that an American, English speaking sub could subscribe to on a monthly basis in their local area.. and at a savings. Since it has launched, Dish has added at least one new premium, "Blockbuster at home"...

What's Available in DD 5.1 Audio on Dish?

Oh, and a lot depends on proper hookup if the 5.1 system. Do not use the RCA (red and white) audio connectors. These are two channel (stereo) only. Only use a digital or optical connector of some sort (HDMI, optical, ext.). And connect it directly from the source (I.e. Dish receiver) to the...

What's Available in DD 5.1 Audio on Dish?

Only programming recorded in 5.1 will be in 5.1. Most sporting events are in 5.1 nowadays, so unless if you are watching an OLD repeat, it should be in surround. Dish does pass the 5.1 on if it exists, at least with HD channels. The question to answer is, what about SD channels?

What's Available in DD 5.1 Audio on Dish?

Maybe someone "in the know" can reply with a specific number of channels or list; but until then, I'll report what I know from experience. I know the local networks usually broadcast in surround, as well as the premiums and most HD cable networks. Not sure about the SD channels.. with prices as...

    30 second skip?

Same problem here, especially on the Joeys. I wonder if this has been added to the official bug list, if such really exists?

BIG 10 is BACK - A Deal Has Been Reached!

But.. one problem with that.. Dish has retrans agreements with each local Fox affiliate, not with Fox itself, correct? This means that Fox itself cannot "pull the plug" or otherwise nullify the existing retrans agreement. They can, however, probably require that their affiliates take some sort...
