How do you like the new HD Channels

Not impressed, the 129 satellite is too unreliable. Move them into the core slots!

    FX Network duplicate

And then during the Christmas holidays they could change it to a nice fireplace in HD.

    Commercial D500 vs D1000

The D500 see two orbital locations and the D1000 see 3 orbital locations. What this means is that the D1000 can see an additional satellite at the 129 orbital location where a lot of the HD programming is transmitted from. Depending upon where you live, you are probably going to want a D1000...

    Need Help

Dish Pro Dual LNBs are less than $25 on Ebay, including shipping. However, your 110/119 Twin will work as long as it is Dish Pro. The problem that you are running into is that the DP34 requires Dish Pro LNB equipment.

Archos 604 Wifi / DishNetwork Information

The PocketDish has custom firmware to support Dish Network content. I don't believe that you can change the firmware on a standard Archos unit to enable this capability.

    Wich Orbital?

HD comes from 110 and either 61.5 and 129. (61.5 and 129 are basically mirrors of each other with regards to National programming - they do however contain the HD locals for different markets.) You will need another dish added to capture either the 61.5 or 129 slot as well as a DPP44 switch to...

Are locals broadcasting local origin HD?

Another thing I noticed a few weeks ago is that Wheel of Fortune is now being provided in HD. The local station in Minneapolis passes it along in glorious HD. Oh Vanna!

    Self Install / Activation?

I purchased my own equipment via the web and did a self install. They get a little picky on activation to ensure that you have good signals from all the appropriate satellites. Once you get past that and verify that you have good, rock solid signal levels, then the rest is a breeze.

    No-Phone Fee?

Dish does not call the receiver, the receiver calls dish. It calls dish to report PPV purchases. It also calls dish as part of the Dish Home feature to allow you to check your billing and such. I think there are other reasons that it calls Dish but I don't know what they are or what the...

How far from Minneapolis can you be?

I'm in Prior Lake and have a Square Shooter SS2000 on the roof pointing right into a couple of trees. I get all the Shoreview channels and the 41's out of St. Cloud in the range of 75-95% on the Dish 622. I think I am 28 miles from Shoreview if I remember from antennaweb.org

    Pentagon Channel

I think that sigmtr meant that the channel was free for AT60 and higher. Not the dish itself.
