So I am able to receive 91w with my Dish 1000 (roughly 20x25) between 100% to 75% on most transponders in the D/FW, Texas area. I tried to set the same receiver up at my fathers house (which is activated) a few miles away and I can not get a signal with his dish 500. Am I just having issues...

I figured it out. Elevation wasn't correct. The dish installer didn't install the dish level. Thanks!

No I don't have a legacy LNB. I guess I could go buy one. Why would it find it with that LNB but not the one that is on the Dish 1000?

Sorry to keep this thing going but I just had a thought. What if I JUST wanted to recieve ANIK F1R for now and upgrade later to get F2. Could I use my dish 1000 and a ku lnb to just pull the one bird in for SD and no HD? Thanks!

If the dish 1000 will pick up 3 sat locations why couldn't I just adapt a starchoice 75E LNB onto the end of it? Just curious. Thanks for the info though!!

I am also interested in Starchoice. I am a Canadian expat living in the Dallas / Ft. Worth area. I have a Dish 1000 on the roof. Any way I can put a starchoice LNB on the Dish 1000? Shipping for the Starchoice 75E is expensive...
