The numbers do NOT match. The screen shows 004-0080-8000-86. the number on the back is 000-03177-20841-083. So, what does that mean?!!!

ok, corrado, thanks! so, it's ok to power-up the unit, without a VCII in it? I don't remember much about the VCII, I just know that I have an extra one.! I've not done a master reset. I have done 'soft' resets, & the clock resets, & I get rehits no problem. I'm waiting on a 920 I bought off...

I get all the options displayed when I hit the options button--I can get all data, & do the options 6, 4, 4, for adjustments.

Can anyone tell me how to determine if a receiver is a motorola 920 or 922, from the exterior? I can't find a number or name on a unit I found. thanks!
