sounds to me like op does not quite understand dod and is try to use his search feature for movies on his original package rather than going to the dod menu. this menu will give you a list of avialable dod programs.

if ordered on-line, ppv would show on all access cards on the account. the charge you would see online would be to your primary(on dtv's records) card. if the hd version was ordered of course the only card able to show this would be your hd.

in the not so distant future all hd programming will be in mpeg 4 format and so you will need a mpeg4 ird.

component cables allow the same resolution as hdmi. Most like the hdmi for the one cable resolution however some tv's (samsung) hdmi chip set is slightly different than dtv's causing multiple minor problems.

and to answer your question, you can leave both connected.

r15's auto detect cable connections when first plugged into power. In order to change to two inputs, simply unplug the ird for about 10 sec. and plug it back in. as long as both lines have signal on them it will add the second tunner.

did you say a 10' pole? This is not a standard install and would be considered a no line of sight on a sight survey. With the signal levels you are getting it still sounds as if you have line of sight issues on 119. If the problem that the pole was not plumb it would be hard to get the...
