    Question with Coaxial Cable

D* says the cable has to have a solid copper center conductor with a rating of up to 3ghz for their AT9 dish... There's really no reason to use quad shield. Regular 60% braid RG-6 should be able to handle those 100' runs no problem.

    Safest penetration into a Home?

Basic installer: external walls. Custom: through ducts, regular pvc jacketed rg-6 should work fine.

The reason i said RG-11 is because it is difficult to find RG-7. I agree that RG-7 would be better for a long run like that. Solid copper center conductor would help as well, less resistance.

150' of RG6 is doable, but that's pushing it. you will definately need a signal amplifier for that OTA antenna. You will definately need a powered multiswitch for the dishes. If you can I would recommend running Quad RG6 if you can. If the run from the tower to the house is going to be far you...

no kidding, if you don't like the prices, do it yourself, we're not stopping you. but if it's not up to specs we're not using it.

    New install

why not do it yourself, you can get the supplies at home depot for cheap, you'll also need to dig the trench for him. 1 5/8" pole 16ga minimum 6' long, 2' underground 4' above. what i do is dig down 2' then put the pole in, and put some gravel in to plumb it then put the easy mix concrete in...

MPEG 4 Bit Rate... Can this be

    1.4Mbps * 1024 = 1433.6Kbps * 8 = 11468.8kbps So it is really 11,469 kbps. There is your proper calculation for the bitrate. 1024 bytes in 1 kilobyte 8 bits in a byte

    Coax requirement for HD OTA.

like mike said, all you really need is rg-6 with 60% braid. i recommend perfect vision or belden. for ota having a solid copper center is not extremely important but maintains a better signal over further runs. quad shield is not necessary but again helps prevent signal loss for longer runs.

    Safest penetration into a Home?

we've had a guy catch a mobile home on fire when he hit an electrical wire. i punch through the drywall, poke the bit through backwards and then move the fiberglass out of the way and make sure there is no other obstructions then put the bit back on my drill and drill through the outside wall.
