    I use skype from computer all the time. Download skype to computer and have her do the same. Get USB headset to chat and a webcam for live video. Requires a high speed connection

    1-800- DIRECTV is the number to call for new service. You called a retailer that carries both dish and directv. Your described equipment sounds like dish. You will need 7 receivers for DTV. 3 HD and 4 Standard. You will have to purchase 1 HD reciever and 2 standard. Cost will be about $200.00.

    Not getting local channels

    Call dish to see about free receiver upgrade. Your monthly statement will increase $5 for locals and $6 for DVR. I believe the 501 you have currently has no monthly service fee.

    lake charles, la fox 29 Dish is in a contract dispute with fox in this dma. Can they now import Fox from another nearby DMA (Beaumont, Alexandria or Lafayette) or from NY or LA?

    in previous similar dma's, directv will swap out the dish and the FIRST receiver for existing customers. Additional boxs will run $49 each, Case in point--Buckley/Bluefield WVA.

    Both parties should focus on acquiring cable subs and unserved rural areas that dont even have locals. They are just swapping each others subs with this campaign. Both providers are good--now go beat up the cable operators.

    you go ricky! the already uplinked dmas that need a local imported. look for mississippi and nebraska and victoria tex. This distant legislation will now delay them.

    if the locals are in HD then DTV will install all HD equipment for new customers at no charge. This is the case in other similar DMA's

    you will need $25 on the prepaid card. DTV will authorize the card for $25 then put it back on the card in 10 days or after install, which ever comes first

    What other markets does DirecTV have locals in and Dish does not? Usually, its the other way around. Thx
