    GEOSATpro New Receiver?

Anything in this chipset of note for us hobbyist suffering from tinker and tweak syndrome............any SoICs out there capable of DVBS/2 modes plus ATSC yet? I know that horse carcass was thoroughly abused during the uHD discussions in it's infancy.........but this IS a new chipset......so...

    Newbie looking for help!

Testimonials?....REALLY? The uHD is an exceptional piece of work, supported by dedicated developers and hobbyists (at least one for sure...lol) and will sell itself. We are fortunate to have all of this, but ease up. It will not bring world piece or usher in the second coming. Realistically...

Oh I dont know, babysteps. Nothing wrong with considering some cheap beginner level equipment, maybe trying to scrounge up an old Primestar or satellite ISP dish. From our point of view the package is a fair bargain, but 240 bucks vs 20-40 bucks for an older receiver and maybe a free...

    microHD Development: Feature Requests

That is handy. The HD8240 uses the mute button to toggle the tone while in setup mode. It remains selectable as long as you are in that mode, then defaults to off when you exit the sat configure page.

I dunno....he hasnt been back....yet. Maybe I gave him too much food for thought.....lol Yes, I'm more of a DXer that a watcher as well. I dont scan HF much anymore, always seems to be the same old drama queens and violators on the band. Clearly the FCC has been too busy bedding down with 2...

Hi Mike, Thanks for the kind words. As general as his post sounded it seemed he had things to consider he didnt even know existed. I tried to reply with that in mind. I was concerned it came off a bit on the negative side, but felt obliged to point out the efforts necessary for success. I hate...

The short answer is avoid unsupported equipment....for example, you might find a "deal" on a receiver on Fleabay but if it's buggy or poorly designed, you likely wont get any satisfaction if you need FW upgrades or repairs. As has been posted, before going any further what DO you want...

    microHD Shipping Status

Yeah, I remember reading that post but didnt follow. I need to read it again, but it seems like it was - not in the 1st batch, but had ordered enough for the 2nd batch, so, the 2nd batch will get it sent with, or opened and replaced and we in the 1st batch will just get the original...

How to end up in the dog house.

Yup, some form of expensive rocks and twisted metal usually smooths over transgressions here too. Sadly the old adage "it's cheaper to keep her" eventually comes true for all of us..........

I *was* real excited. Then I looked at Lyngsat.

When all else fails the old reliable "It's easier to apologize than to ask permission." comes to mind. Once the investment/installation is committed to, go with "It would be a waste to not finish honey". Offer and be prepared to agree for her to spend an equal amount on something she deems...

    microHD Development: Feature Requests

In retrospect, perhaps the title containing the term "Feature Requests" was too ambiguous. Maybe "Enhancements and Improvements" would have been a better choice. Seems we did cover virtually every conceivable feature request in the original thread, and the target audience for this thread is...

    microHD Development: Feature Requests

In the original thread Brian mentioned that it is indeed capable of a spectrum analyzer mode. As I recall the issue was setting up usable reference points in the FW was a task itself and was consuming program development resources needed to trap bugs and tweak performance. Hence the reference...

    microHD Development: Feature Requests

@Brent That brings some "outside the box" ideas to the table. It would seem that if remote codes for other remotes could be determined (ie JP1 data), stored in a usable form in the user data area, and the FW is written to reference an alternate instruction source, selectable via the GUI to use...
