99.1 CM HughesNet Find - Need Help Modding

I am trying to avoid cutting down a rather large Oak that is on my SW side of my property. That and having yard dogs that may find it funny to climb/chew/otherwise destroy the dish. Yea, roof is a pain, but I think it is my safest bet. I can avoid crawling under the house also... I can snake the...

99.1 CM HughesNet Find - Need Help Modding

I weighed the dish with one back bracket on and it is 25#... I am gonna guess 30# by the time I adapt a few brackets and put on a LNB. What is the best current or older brand diseqc motor that can handle 30# on a roof mount? Or am I better off getting a H-H motor with it on the roof? Nate

99.1 CM HughesNet Find - Need Help Modding

More searching and it is a old-style DirecWay dish. Still think it is a older CM made dish.

99.1 CM HughesNet Find - Need Help Modding

Prodelin or ChannelMaster? What are the guesses as to whom manuf this fiber-enforced HughesNet labeled dish... Prodelin or ChannelMaster? Looks to me like a CM, though I am pretty sure the feedhorn/LNB assembly part number is a Prodelin. The dish is pretty heavy... gotta pick it up and weigh...

    Scalar rings

I have spent several hours reading at this site... Very well put together, and easy enough for a newbie like me to grasp... I use it as a go-to when I have a question about something I do not quite grasp. Has some good links also :) Footprints by Dish Size - Adjusting the Polar Mount for...

    weird dishes?

The bare alum. perfed dish is surely from one of the "solar grabbers" who also search out and destroy the solid Bird Views and attach them to solar trackers and use them to capture solar energy for on-site power. The sat at the cell site... of course cell phones originate from satellites, that...

Birdview May be Possible In Near Future

I did not make it to the station today... trying to wrap up a project. As soon as I can make sure if it is in use pulling satellite broadcast or not - I will report back... keeping my fingers crossed right now - and yes... with any luck the rest of the motor and housing is laying in a box...

Birdview May be Possible In Near Future

If anyone remembers - I found a Bird View MM 20/20 at a local closed radio station... never could contact the property owner who was in N.C. Well, to my surprise I tuned to 1340 AM this weekend, and there was a broadcast! Found out yesterday that several local black gentlemen (yes, we call -...

    DSR-410 Question

Thanks for the replys... I will pass that along. I have the DSR-922 that I am gonna use - I guess I have gotten spoiled with my current cable box using component video out to my RPTV. I spent alot of time tweaking that input with user controls within the TV. I have been thinking about...

    DSR-410 Question

I have been chatting with my neighbor who is helping me with my BUD install. I told him about the 410 programming through Sky. I have been looking at the receiver and noticed it only has composite RCA video output. It also has a place to input "antenna" which I assume is a aerial UHF/VHF...

    AC-3 audio

French... What JVC amp do you have... trying to sort it out, cause it should give you at least stereo sound from the Sony processor. Make sure you have the Captive Works receiver set to output audio on the optical or digital coax if it has that option. Have you tried all the modes on the Sony...

    AC-3 audio

French... Yea, you need a receiver that can accept/decode the AC3 signal from your FTA receiver. If you want to use just stereo from your JVC amp - jus use the red/white RCA cord from the back of the FTA receiver to the JVC - but it will only be stereo and you may have to tell the FTA receiver...

    10ft KTI setup

If it were me, I would get an adjustable F/D - linear C/Ku feedhorn like a ADL RP-3 or Corotor II for the BUD and setup a separate 36"+ dish if you want circular Ku. Get the best trusted LNBs you can afford. Check places like Ebay, craigslist, and don't ever forget the classified section here...
