    burn in question...

I have a Phillips widescreen HD CRT and a Panasonic plasma. So far, I have not experienced burn-in with the CRT. I play XBOX games on it for hours with no burn. The plasma on the other hand is a different story. I have noticed temporary image retention with it several times. The first and worst...

    102g qph031 dish setup help

OK, mine says Latitude on both sides. Now what? I set the motor angle to 50, Goto SBS6 (USALS), LNB Setup 1 (Linear). Maximized signal strength using Satfinder and adjusting dish angle. New dish angle is about 12. Signal strength 65% signal quality 0 %. Scanned SBS6, no channels.

    102g qph031 dish setup help

Pete, Thanks for the reply. I will try the settings you provided and if that doesn't work, I will remove the motor and switch. The installation instructions for my GS120 motor say to set the motor angle to the Latitude for my location, which would be 40 and the dish angle to 23.74 from their...

    102g qph031 dish setup help

Hi, Thanks for the quick reply. I don't seem to have Amazonas in the list of satellites in the Twinhan software or ProgDVB. I'm new to this, so I don't know how to add it. Gary

    Dumpster Diving

I couldn't believe they tossed a perfectly good 1m dish. I think I have a dish for my ASC-421 lnbf.

    Dumpster Diving

I went dumpster diving last night and picked up a couple of dishes. The Muzak service next door chucked a 1 meter Channel Master and a 30" fiberglass dish with LNBs on them. They also threw away 3 non-invasive roof mounts. Now I just have to get them on the roof and hook them up!:D

What you should know about Twinhan DVB

Sorry to hear about your card. I just bought a 102g. I haven't installed it yet. From your avatar it looks like your dish is mounted on a pole. How well does that work? What size dish is that?

Building a platform for my dish.

Yeah, the Dish Network installers complained about the roof, but one guy had some soft soled shoes that didn't slip on the shingles, so he mounted the dish. The other guy wouldn't even try it. According to the FCC, I can mount my 1m dish on an antenna mast or pole that stands up...

Building a platform for my dish.

Thanks for the quick reply. I don't really want to roof mount that large of a dish. Plus, I'm not sure it would be high enough. I had fun removing the LNBFs from the 18" dish. My roof is very steep. I had to walk along the peak until I was above the dish and then slide down to it. I had to slide...

Building a platform for my dish.

I'm trying to figure out how to mount my dish as well. I don't actually have the dish yet, but it is on the way. Winegard 1m dish, which will be mounted on a GeoSatPro GS120 Plus (SG2100) motor with HD brackets and 55mm tube. My 1.5 story house is on the side of a hill with a row of 3.5 story...

FTA Chinese What do I need?

Thanks a lot guys! Looks like I will be shopping this weekend. Maybe I'll try the Fortec 90U dish and the SG2100 motor. I think the dish comes with a Fortec 0.4 db Universal LNB. Would I be better off with the 0.3 db Invacom QPF-031? What is MAC-TV? :p

FTA Chinese What do I need?

Hi, I am new to FTA. I basically have no equipment yet. I do have a Dish 500 18" dish. My location is Enola, PA 17025 near Harrisburg. My wife is from Taiwan and she really would like to watch TV shows from Taiwan, Hong Kong, and China. I'm a computer guy, so I'm thinking about using one of the...
