Makes sense. THanks. I couldn't imagine that DISH would be broadcasting an HD network on more than one satellite. I prefer all my 'regular' HD channels in teh 100 range so I don't have anything above 500 that I look at.

As a corollary to the above request; sometimes I pause to see something I missed and that dang status bar covers up what I was looking for. Is there a way to 'remove' all the display stuff so you actually see an unadulterated paused frame?

I noticed those 2 channels pop up..and I promptly removed them from my channel lineup. Since I have the same channels repeated 3x (in the 100-200 range, in the 5000 range and again in the 9000 range) I only keep the HD channels in the 100-200 range. Does this make any difference at all? Are...

I agree with avp. I still have my QAM tuner pulling in comcast locals in HD and I switch back & forth. The difference is striking. Comcast HD is much 'crisper' and the colors are much more vibrant. DISH, otoh, is washed out and muddy. Doesn't look nearly as nice and I know comcast is...

What are you guys watching?? I'm a less = more type of person and honestly HD Bronze has everything and then some that I need. I don't watch half of the HD channels I get now. I do miss the quality of Voom, but its mostly ESPN and the free movie channels (for now) + discovery HD. For $35/mo...
