    Xm Or Sirius

Not a problem, Boss... The alpine head units support both services. There are also some home versions available, but they are quite pricey. Crestron makes a modular tuner, with modules for AM, FM, XM, and Sirius. You can mix and match the modules for your neccessity.

    Xm Or Sirius

I'd disagree. I won't say that Sirius' equipment is oodles better, but XM certainly does not have "better" equipment.

    Digital Signal

Boss, It sounds like a problem with the feed. The signal you receive for your locals (through your cable box) would have the same strength as any other channel your box is decoding. Typically, the HD stations and features such as on-screen guides chew the most bandwidth. If you have these...

anything about switched video and more Hd?

Absoultely, Sir... You Sir, are quite right for that point... Cable is far more capable in regards to "on-demand" and data delivery services... Remember when DirecTV tried to offer dsl? The service (supposedly) was horrible!

anything about switched video and more Hd?

I disagree... Incorrect. As satellite providers begin to switch over to better codecs (mpeg4) their bandwidth allocations will change drastically. Further, as new codecs emerge, compression (much as I hate to say it...) will become better and better. Cable companies are proprietary. At...

anything about switched video and more Hd?

On Demand requires... ...uuber bandwidth. An individual digital channel or stream doesn't require a ton of weight behind it, but with security algororithms and streaming software in place, bandwidth needs become greater and greater. Now, add multiple streams on top of it... Much bandwidth is...

We Really Had It Great With Voom!!

True, but then there are people who live in areas where ALL buried cables belong to a Baby Bell, a massive cable company, (Time Warner for me...) or the power company. I won't see FiOS for years. Why? Because it would cost Verizon tens of billions to lay their own lines to compete head on...

anything about switched video and more Hd?

No, it won't make a difference. Time Warner's current deployment couldn't support tons of HD streaming. They have to get in like Verizon's doing, and bring fiber to my front door. :D

anything about switched video and more Hd?

Notice, Time Warner says "eventually..." Just like Time Warner to make a claim like that... It will be YEARS before we see this level of service from them. By the way, for those who are not familiar. This is what Verizon is doing with their FiOS service, which is available NOW in certain...
