RV Use of DishNetwork & Eastern vs Western Arc

No roaming locals Ron, I think Tom is right. Locals are determined by Zip, region, and whatever is going up to the sat. from that region. Been through that with Dish Mover's and out-of-towners. Best you could do out of region would be the interactive weather feature or Sling technology...

    DISH Network Sues the FCC

Dodger, the quote you have on your post says it all: "Glittering prizes and endless compromises shatter the illusion of reality." YEAH! Anyone who hasn't seen and felt this hasn't been in the business long or is neck-deep in denial. We need this resistance to arbitrary authority, wherever we find...

Many long time owned subs are finally leaving in droves/how to fix dish bag network

Frankly,Clark, you're right. Lightning and hail will interrupt your service. Storms of rain and snow will block signal. The Earth supposedly shifted during a recent quake. Satellites can fail, have solar glare or electromagnetic haze blocking retransmission from the sat. Of course those crazy...

Many long time owned subs are finally leaving in droves/how to fix dish bag network

By the way, r10, nice going with the shocking headline lead-in. Ever work in newsprint? Maybe I should start one that says: Many Dish installers are scrambling to install former Cable and Direct customers! Just as much truth. As long as you narrow that view enough, you can say anything. All the...

Iceberg always looks ready to fight. I like this guy.

    Reuse Direct TV mounting?

It's done everyday. Most Dish polars will fit right on there. As Ice mentioned above, some larger dishes would require larger masts with struts for added support. The cabling should be reusable, if it is undamaged RG-6. Satco's will sometimes ask for their LNB back, but I've never heard of them...

Well just got a look at my install

Improper cabling, ground, no silicone on mounting bolts or on one entry point. Dude just failed Dish QC bigtime.

    I just started installing?

The 1000.4 calls for 90lbs torque on dish bolts. Try skywalker.com for tech tools on the cheap, as well as fittings, cable etc. if these are not provided. Get a flat,spade-handled shovel and sharpen the edge with a grinder or file. Use this to cut the grass and fold it back when trenching cable...

Changed All Hardware - Still Can't Get A Signal!

89.5 is not perfectly plumb. This threw off your elevation, resulting in the 9 degrees difference. Like mentioned above-if it works leave it. Remember how far away the sat. is. A little mis-aim here will put you way off in space.

    It was the stupid separator

One can easily test a separator by removing the incoming sat. line, attaching straight to the rec. Do a checkswitch and look for missing sat's. If that port checks out, put sat. line on the other input, do checkswitch. Sometimes there,s a bad port on the rec.(input #1 or #2). I have had several...

Anyone Else's Receiver System Time Behind by 4 Minutes?

Reset all the clocks in your house to match the receiver. Set the recording to start four minutes earlier. Don't mess with the receiver. Just joking. Try the above-mentioned reset, and maybe do a checkswitch.

setting up satelite (dishnetwork) for RV

First of all, welcome to our forum. Next, I have to say" WHY DO YOU WANT HIGH DEF IN A CAMPER?" I have worked on too many systems on campers. We have major campgrounds and lakes here. I am always amazed that people go to the woods and complain that their cellphone don't work, their is no wireless...

Where's this guy at again? I think he needs a radical uninstall.

All good advice above. I'm guessing weak splitter, though.

    dish 500 problems

Follow above advice. If trees aren't a problem, settings or LNB failure could be the problem. Also check cabling and connections for moisture.
