    Hopper 3

Our current setup is a 622 and 722, each connected to a TV. So a total of 2 TVs. I like the nature of this setup, being able to watch live or recorded programming and record programming independently. Ideally I would like to replicate this setup with 2 Hopper 3s, but it may not be easy to do...

Recorded shows disappearing on WD 2TB My Book Essential

Thanks. There's currently 1000 recordings. So If I transfer recordings from the VIP722 to the WD's remaining 50 GB will they actually transfer, but not be seen until I delete some?

Recorded shows disappearing on WD 2TB My Book Essential

Recently I noticed that recordings have been disappearing from my WD 2TB My Book Essential external hdd. I recorded the Hell on Wheels marathon on a VIP722 and then transferred them to the WD. Today I checked the WD and noticed that all the Hell on Wheels episodes were gone. The WD is almost...

    External HDD

Currently I have a WD My Book Essential as an external HDD for a VIP722. It seems they have been discontinued and replaced with the My Book Desktop. I'm considering the WD 3 TB Elements or WD 3 TB My Book Desktop. Is one preferable over the other...

VIP 722 with UHF remote in single user mode

It says 6.0 IR/UHF PRO. For some reason I confused the #1 and #2 with IR and UHF modes, respectively, instead of TV1 and TV2 modes. I'll flip it to #1 since I want to stay in TV1 mode. Thanks.

VIP 722 with UHF remote in single user mode

Thanks. I cut an 8 inch piece of coax and stripped off about an inch of the outer jacket and connected it to the VIP722. I tried getting the 6.0 remote, which has the blue #2 tab, to work with the VIP722, but it didn't work. I then switched the 21.1 remote to UHF and was able to get it to work...

VIP 722 with UHF remote in single user mode

Thanks everyone. Now that I know I can use the 6.0 remote with the 722, where can I get an antenna, if I can't find the one that came with the 722?

VIP 722 with UHF remote in single user mode

How do I do that? Does that mean I have to configure things each time I switch using the UHF remote for the TV in the adjacent room and the IR remote in the current room?

VIP 722 with UHF remote in single user mode

I have the 21.1 IR/UHF PRO, with a TV1 chip, that came with the VIP 722. I also have a 6.0 IR/UHF PRO, with a TV2 chip, that came with the VIP 622.

VIP 722 with UHF remote in single user mode

Thanks. Already decided on the Redmere from monoprice. :) Now I need to find the antenna and UHF remote or purchase them if I can't find them. Are the remotes backwards compatable? The VIP 722 I have is 5+ years old so I want to make sure I get the right remote if I have to buy. P.S. Can I...

VIP 722 with UHF remote in single user mode

I want to run a long HDMI cable from my VIP 722 to a TV in an adjacent room and control it using the UHF remote. I want the 722 left in single user mode so that the TV functions the same as the TV I am currently using. I won't be using both TVs at the same time. Only one TV will be connected to...

VIP 722: No audio on one tuner

Unplugging and plugging back in worked. Thanks.

VIP 722: No audio on one tuner

Recently I stopped getting audio on one tuner. The other tuner works fine. So, if I'm watching something on one tuner with audio and press the "SWAP" button on the remote, any channel that's on the second tuner has no audio. Is it most likely an issue with the dish tuner? I haven't reset the...

    Are Hoppers quiet?

Are Hoppers quieter than the 622 and 722? We have a 622 and 722 and they are easily heard when the TV is off as well as when the volume is lower.

    WD External DVR

Thanks. I knew I couldn't record to the external drive. I read in another thread about people switching back and forth between the internal and external drives... something about powering down the dvr and connecting/disconnecting the external drive.
