    Wireless Joey questions

It's not. [emoji3] I now have an auto tune timer set to Ota channel each morning and that has worked most of the time. Sent from my Pixel using Tapatalk

I have single tuner and the workaround is tuning the Hopper to the OTA channel first Sent from my Pixel using Tapatalk

Tune the Hopper to the OTA channel, then check the Joey again. Sent from my Pixel using Tapatalk

Dish and 1080i upscaling on 4K

A TV cannot handle over compression and macroblocking from the source. Nothing to do with the TV. Comparing the same channel from dish vs OTA is not a TV calibration issue. For what it's worth I have a fully calibrated 75" Samsung ks9000. Your points are valid, just not in this case. It is a...

Dish and 1080i upscaling on 4K

All locals are worse on Dish for me, but yes, crappy OTA just means crappier Dish as they typically get the same signal. I agree, it just sucks with bigger tvs being the norm that the quality is going down. Pretty much all providers suffer from it now so we don't have many options. Frustrating...

Dish and 1080i upscaling on 4K

I disagree 100 percent. The difference between an OTA local and dish local is very obvious to me. Major additional compression. It may look ok on static images but motion causes lots of problems. Static black backgrounds on TV shows are also a mess. In the end everyone sees things differently...

DISH to work with the Google Assistant

Correct, Google home does not have room awareness. So you have to say "change bedroom Joey to espn". Works on my Hopper and all 4 Joey's. Not sure how useful it really is at this point though. Sent from my Pixel using Tapatalk

Poor picture quality with dark scenes on OLED

Can't say for sure as I don't watch this show, but you are much more likely to get better PQ through Amazon or another streaming service. As you said, compression on Dish sucks but it's reality as most people do not care or notice. Sent from my Pixel using Tapatalk

So Who's Having OTA Problems on Their Joeys?

I don't see it as a tuner issue. Tuner works fine, signal passed through to the joeys is hosed up. Sent from my Pixel using Tapatalk

So Who's Having OTA Problems on Their Joeys?

Still issues after 517 update, awaiting a fix. I'm close to dumping dish over this. OTA was only hope for watching decent PQ with Dish, now that is gone too. Sent from my Pixel using Tapatalk

So Who's Having OTA Problems on Their Joeys?

Me, been that way for months. OTA channels pixilate on joey every couple seconds until I go and tune to the same channel on the Hopper. Then it is fine until the next morning. Sent from my Pixel using Tapatalk

S511 this morning on my hopper 3 DVR

People have said creating an auto tune timer has worked for them. I set one for 6am and when I went to watch a program around 4pm it pixelated for me so didn't work. Sent from my Pixel using Tapatalk

S511 this morning on my hopper 3 DVR

Right, by doing a scan you forced the Hopper to use the OTA tuner, which makes things work temporarily on the joeys. My guess is the nightly reboot is what then hoses that up causing the issue to occur again. Sent from my Pixel using Tapatalk
